Xcaret Optional Activities
Our Xcaret PagesWhile Xcaret offers so much to see and do it is difficult to fit all the included attractions in in a single day, there are also even more optional activities. The activities listed below are subject to additional charges and all but the dolphin swim have to be arranged on the day. Swim with Dolphins:Varying programs and prices are available. It is strongly recommended that these are booked in advance. With a typical ratio of 4 persons to each dolphin, if you try and book this on arrival at Xcaret you may be disappointed particularly during peak season. For details of the programs available, prices and reservations see our Xcaret Dolphin Swims page. Diving:Certified open water divers will enjoy diving Barracuda Reef or the sunken wreck "Mama Viña". If you're not certified but want to learn you could join the professional dive masters for a resort course and take the plunge. Snorkel Tour:The tropical snorkel tour takes you to a reef location just 15 minutes by boat from Xcaret where you can swim in the crystal clear warm waters of the Caribbean while a myriad of tropical fish swim below you as they go about their business on the extensive reef formations Turtles in their natural habitat are also often spotted on the snorkel tour. The snorkel tour is fully guided and life vests must be worn to ensure that beginners and experts alike have a fun and safe experience. Snuba:For something slightly different try Snuba - a cross between snorkeling and scuba. Snuba combines the technology of scuba with the ease of snorkeling. It's diving without a tank as your airline is permanently fixed to a floating raft on the surface. Mask fins and lead belt to allow for neutral buoyancy make this activity ideal for those who love to snorkel but are not quite ready to try a scuba dive yet. The bay snorkel descends to a depth of 20 feet and there is a reef option too. Sea Trek:Diving for the non-swimmer, yes really! All you need is a swimsuit and you're provided with a special helmet which allows you to breathe normally underwater without even getting your hair wet! The helmet is like a motorcycle helmet and constantly has air pumped into it so there's not even a regulator or mouthpiece to worry about. The guided tour takes you to the reef to view and feed the colorful marine life in total safety. Xcaret is one of the few places in the World where you can do this, so take the chance while you can. Spa:Xpá offers several types of massages for relaxing body and spirit. Set at a natural lagoon with waters energized from the ancient underground river, the location perfectly the singing of the birds and the tropical fish passing beneath the massage tables. Xpá is a truly unique experience. Microlight Rides:Soar above Xcaret from the air to really understand the beauty of this magical place and see how many shades of blue the ocean and sky really can provide. Certified pilots fly your microlight so your experience is comfortable and safe. All above activities do of course depend on weather conditions. It is advisable that you book immediately on entering the park to ensure space is available as limited numbers are available and these fill up fast. |
