Lucifer has given a pretty good account of this hotel. There are usually a lot of cool people partying here during the day and a ton of hot girls on spring break. But that is about the only thing good about this hotel.

They do tend to treat everyone under thirty like crap. Despite what they say online and in the brochures, you will not have access to any of the ala carte restaurants. This has nothing to do with who you book your vacation through. If you have a problem, the staff will pretend not to understand you even if you speak fluent spanish. Yet they will understand a middle aged person's english perfectly.

I found out the hard way about the bracelet issue and it really destroyed my mood for the rest of the vacation. I hadn't budgeted for this and it felt like paying for sex. What is the point of even going out to the nightclubs if you can't hook up with someone from a different hotel. After this I concentrated on the girls in the hotel itself. This worked out slightly better but I found that even then a lot of the staff will give you a problem if you have a phase 2 band and try to enter phase 1 and vice versa. Although it usually wasn't that difficult to get around these people.

The buffets look straight out of Fear Factor. Despite 8 days of constant drinking, I managed to lose 15 pounds.

I just got back from the Oasis a few days ago. Debba9802's pics and account of the hotel is pretty much bang on except for the fact that they have finished painting the exterior. The pics can be viewed here:

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...=8EaM3DJo4aN1Y

First off, I will say that the pool area of the hotel is very nice. The rooms however are nothing short of horrendous. There was very little hot water. In fact there was none -- it was luke warm at best and sometimes stone cold. The toilet overflowed as did the bathtub. The service is terrible. Our phone didn't work (the cord was ripped). When a phone tech came to replace it, he stole my cell phone off the table. In addition, the cleaning staff left our room door open one day. Totally ridiculous. Oh, and if you're considering using the "safe" in your room... don't bother. You're better off locking your stuff up in your suitcase as I'm sure the safe can be cracked open with a screwdriver.

You cannot eat at the "nice" restaurants unless you're staying at the Grand Oasis or have a purple wristband indicating that you're 27 or older. On the topic of wristbands, don't lose yours or you'll be expected to pay $100 USD to replace it. As mentioned, they are anal about wristbands all over the hotel. I found not being able to bring people back to the hotel completely absurd.

The convenience store in the lobby did not have change most of the time. How difficult is it to go to the bank and get a bunch of different bills so people will be able to break 100 or 200 peso bills?

I strongly discourage anyone from staying here. Although it is the "party hotel" of Cancun, the hotel itself is a dump. Next time I'm staying at the Riu.

This is an honest review of this hotel. I have stayed places from days inns to the beverly hills hotel and places in between. This places is not worth your money even if you are looking to party. I was here on spring break of course and the accomadations at the oasis are less than 2 stars. Depending on the room you get they are 1.5 stars at best with most at the 1 star level. The air conditioning in our room didnt work for a few days but was fixed. The bathroom smelled and the toilet looked all stained and dirty. The balconies are covered in paint are not really that nice. The tv's are small and our beds only had a top comforter with a flat sheet and no blanket. There was also standing water in some places which was a hazard. I found the staff to be friendly and the grounds were beautiful with peacocks running around everywhere. The beaches are a bit nicer in other areas. Be forwarned that unless you book the grand oasis (upgraded rooms in a seperate building) then you will not have access to all the restaurants. I would not reccomend this hotel and will not stay here ever again unless i book the grand oasis.

-Another note on the food: The burgers and dogs were barely edible. We had access to the 3 buffets for bfast, lunch and dinner. We could eat at the sushi bar and sarape al a carte mexican restuarant for lunch and the sarape for dinner.

Well........ I stayed here from March 9-16 2007 this past spring break! I must say, we must have gotten a good room because our room was wonderful! Newly painted although you couldnt smell it, nice painting on the wall, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and a nice HUGE fruit tray they brought us after check in! Ocean front room facing the beach, couldnt ask for more. We had full access to all the places to eat, but usually had the buffet, which was good for all meals! Not a 5 star hotel by any means, however, if you are going for a party, this is the hotel to be at! If you are going for a vacation and a getaway, i would stay at another place! All in all, I enjoyed it and will go back, assuming I go back for spring break.

I just got back from the oasis my room had some problems such as no plug for the bathtub or antenna for the tv and some other thinks. Food in the buffet was not bad at all .You people bitch too much. When I first read all those negative reviews, it got me scared but now once I got back from it I can honestly say that it was very good, staff was good to me. i lost my key once and left it in the room twice they opened my room right away. Always had hot water would stay again for sure.Oh and it don’t matter what room you have you will stay there only for the night.

The room definetely wasn't worth the 1800.00 bucks. There are much nicer places to stay at in cancun, but if you are looking to party and don't care about the accomadations then this is your place. I'm also a pretty laid back guy so i probably won't stay here again.

Question.

Looking to go to Spring Break next March. Will only be 19 then. May just be me and some friends.

I was in Cancun this past March and stayed at CPC, it was awesome.

Right now, assuming we can find some people old enough (must be 30 to check in at CPC) I am leaning towards going back to CPC, stay in a timeshare though from Golden Shores, and it will cost us 990. The price for the room and AI is exact and then I figured in 350 for air both ways.

I have looked at Oasis but the cheapest I can find for that is 1300. Where in the world do people get their deals for under 1000? Also, a concern I have is that I believe I read on Oasis's site that the latest their bar is open is 12....umm I don't plan on going out to the clubs every night because that gets expensive and it's not as fun.

Those are the reasons I am leaning towards going back to CPC even though it's not a spring breakers resort we have enough people going 6-8 of us and I am hoping to meat a few down there, second week of March. I figure at least one of the bars at CPC is open until 1 and then if we want to we can buy some beer off the resort and carry on the party since we would be in a timeshare room, that is plenty big.

So yeah, sorry for the long ass post but if anyone can help me out with the price at Oasis that would be great. Where in the world do you go for the deals? I've been to google and I clicked on about every freakin site and the cheapest thing I come up with is 1300. Forget that.

Welcome aboard! Spring break, eh? You might want to post in the Breakers Forum and say hello. They seem to be on top of the deals, and you can coordinate your trip so you can hang with them in one of CancunCare's parties:

Well not only will I post the Bad, but I will also post the good
Check in was fast for us. We arrived at 5pm, it was the day After Dean so, and of course the place would be empty.
The sliding door did not work properly, but I was cool with it.
My room had A/C and it worked all of my stay. My brothers room however also had A/C but it would only get as cold as 74 degrees or so. His floors were always moist due to that.
The Food was very good. I liked every restaurant. I was at the Oasis not the GRAND OASIS, so we could not eat at two restaurants. Big Deal.
The first night it rained, both of our rooms were flooded. We called and they came to clean up. The second time it rained, again the rooms were flooded with water and I don’t mean a little wet. The second time it happened at night during our sleep, we did not reported it because it was time to check out, so I did not make a big deal out of it.
My tub was about 90% clogged. The water would take forever to drain. I called the reception and they said they would send someone up. That never happened. About after three calls and two hours later I went down. The guy at the reception said “I already called Maintenance” and he looked at me with that face of “what do you want me to do now”? I dealt with it for the rest of our stay. I managed to unclog it a bit more myself.
If I had to rate this hotel from 1-10 I would give it a 5. Because not all rooms are bad (I think) currently they are remodeling Phase 1. During my stay, all the people from Phase 1 were moved to Phase 2. The crowd is awesome, especially if you are single. This is a cool party hotel. The food is good and best of all it was cheap to stay there. If you have kids and are looking for a Kids Club, you will not find one. However, they recently became part of the Royal Holiday Club. The Grand Oasis at least, and they have plans to start making this a more family oriented place. And like I said, they are renovating the rooms. However, they need to work on their reception staff. I left my camera there after checking out. When I called from the airport, they said they did not have it. After fighting with them, it turns out they found it.
Like I said, you get what you pay for. I would not go there again unless it was the Grand Oasis. If I had free rooms, I would go there again...lol...

Well I've been back since the 10th so I figured I should post my report.

BFF and I got a last minute deal off of funjet for straight flight, hotel and transfer for little over 700 a piece for 5 nights so to complain about anything at that price is insane!

The best about the hotel is definetely the beds, I've been to Cancun before and usually you get concrete to sleep on but they had pillow top mattress's that felt just like mine at home so that was awesome.

Showers had mega and i mean mega pressure which is another rarity in the hotel world no matter where you are, besides it being tricky to get water right, the showers rocked.

The lobby bar was the most personable and really the only place you could talk or associate w/a bartender, we spent our days at the Ibiza swimup bar but pool was too cold to get in and sit at the swim up bar so Amy and I entertained ourselves. We never made it to the Up and Down disco, I'll explain that later.

Food was fine, we ate at the buffet mostly and that was fine, we never went hungry. We did eat at the Thai place for lunch, very good but cold. We ate at the steak restaurant one night which was great, but keep in mind, they open at 630, be in line by no later than 530 to get in on the 1st round or you will be waiting at least an hour again to get in but its worth getting there early. The mexican for lunch was good but by then it all really seems to be the same food just served differently or you got it yourself. The main bar/burger bar was a complete and total joke, you had to wait in line for at least an hour to get a measily hamburger and fries, one guy cooking, one guy taking your order, one guy serving it for hundreds and i mean hundreds of people in line....wonder why it takes so long.....that was my only complaint about ALL the restaurants, I can handle waiting, what i cant handle is the way they manage to make people wait by poor service, tables are empty but you have to wait 1/2 hour for them even if they are made up and ready? Stand in line for an hour after you've given your room # for a table for 2 and someone walks up and need a table of 4 and they get in before you do....sorry, horsesh#t.....just poorly run, they could have 3 times the turnover in those restaurants if they did it right. Burger bar....egad, you have hundreds of people in line.....get sufficient staff to the # of people you have to serve in one day!!!!

Front desk was fine on check-in, we actually got put into a Grand Oasis building and had a nice room no complaints at all on that one.....building was quiet and had security on whoever did make a noise in the middle of the night. Slept like rocks most nights, TV was fine, and the frig was stocked, we did get charged $2 a bottle for water but thats what they charge at the store there so really not a big deal. FYI, please buy your calling cards at store across the street and use the Tel-Mex phone, they charge you $10 for 10 minutes to call home at their phone area, you can easily buy 100 minutes for $10 across the street.

We knew going to a spring break hotel meant we were going to have college kids around but thinking we were going early january it would not be bad at all, egad were we wrong....if it was that packed w/college kids in early january I cant imagine the place during spring break!!!! We didn't know that Canada and other countries were on winter break and they flooded the hotel!!!!! Overall they didnt do anything to damper our vacation, coz we went to basically sit by the pool and go to bed early and get out in the sun very early in the morning, but the few nights that we would have liked to stay out later (hence, not going to Up and Down) was because we were just overwhelmed by the amount of college kids there. So even if it is off season, this place is always and i mean always packed w/college kids. Hats off to them, if only we had means of going to Cancun at that age, Oasis would have been #1 on our list!!!! So like I said knowing it was a SB hotel, can NOT complain about that, but wanted to put it in here coz if your thinking it wont be that bad.....it will be, be prepared!!!!

We had a great time, it was just what we needed to get away from kids, husbands and animals, we were never treated poorly, had a great room, good service besides the waiting and the select few of course because you always have the few.....the Grand Oasis side is much nicer and we squeezed into that part nicely, we heard horror stories of being in the main building and were thanking our lucky stars that we were in a different building!!! If you are thinking by staying at the Grand Oasis you will not be bombarded by the college kids though, you are mistaken!!!

Towel service was fine, trade in your towel at the end of the day and if your up after 9am, your not going to get one......go to the Grand Oasis side and ask for a cushion for your chair, the chairs they have are plastic and the cushions are awesome, especially if you're all day pool people like we are, get there very very early in the AM and dont move unless you have to go to the bathroom or get a drink!!!!!

Any questions, PM me and I'll try and help you out!!!

I'm gonna be at the Oasis Cancun May 28-June 1. I have read a lot of bad things about the hotel. Does anyone know how much it would be to upgrade to the Grand Oasis.

Default couple questions..!

Greetings Everyone! I'm excited to be part of this forum, and am psyched as always about the upcoming SB! Just a couple questions..

Firstly, hypothetically speaking, at the Oasis if someone is to loose his or her wristband will they replace it for a certain fee?

Secondly, does anyone know what the wristbands look like, or are they constantly changing, etc?

Lastly, how many guests do they allow to sleep in one single room?

Thanks!
Brice

yes, you must pay for a lost wristband. It's not cheap either.

yes, they are constantly changing the design/color of the wristbands to prevent counterfeiting

I've seen as many as 4 in a room at the oasis. I think that's probably the limit.

and welcome!

Thanks for teh rapid response!

Are you certain wether they make you show ID or anything else?
- in case the reason im asking is unclear.. there is a group of 4 going, and I want to join them, but really don't want to purchase my own room. Instead, i would rather find a way to get a wristband and sleep on their floor! Maybe i should get a room for a night just in order to get a wristband? Maybe you have a solution!

thanks!

you will have to buy a room! Wristbands change weekly and they are pretty strict with security! If you get cought, its a trip to jail or you pay them a lot of money!

Just got back from the Oasis Cancun today and I really did not want to leave.

People want to complain about little things... for an example.. our air conditioner only worked on low... our toilet would not flush one day... the buffet got repetitive... big freaking deal.. none of this bothered us... we called the front desk and they had it the toilet fixed in 30 minutes... and if you don't like the buffet then go to one of the A La Carts... I would really recommend the Metederanion (sp?) one and I suggest the Breast Of Chicken.

The beach is great... the rocks aren't bad.. like give it up.. if you think it's unsafe for your children then take them 2 hotels over where it's a huge stretch of no rocks.

The hotel staff for the most part were really good.. I especially like the guys who worked inside the buffet bar and and the waiters.

The lobby and sports bar did get crowded and sometimes it was frustrating that they would only give you one drink at a time. What I did in that situation was switch up your beer and start ordering tequila sunrises with mucho tequila... it's like the alcohol of 3 beers.

5 of the 7 nights we stayed I managed to get into the Grand Oasis to sleep... the girl who I kept taking me back all i would do is ask her for her room key hold it in your left hand and put your watch over your red bracelet.. it worked every time.

The golf course is $20.00 if you need club rentals but free to anyone staying at the hotel... it was nice to hit the links even tho they were very low budget.

The grocery store guy across the street is a rat.. it's amazing how things double in price after midnight... like 6 bucks for a normal sized Gatorade... I suggest you hit up walmart and stack your fridge.

The cost of the Safe was $11.00 per room for the week and the cost for a mini fridge that came with 20 different types of drinks (water, beer, juice) you get to pick what you want... was $34.99

Our travel agent had told us that because we were under 25 years old that we would have to put down a $270.00 damage deposit a person... not the case.. so that was a nice surprise.

The tv's have about 25 stations on them... most are spanish but you do get 2 english movie channels.

DO NOT BOOK HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FAMILY LOCATION... that is the only thing I can say.... hell on days that I was too hung over to get in the shower let alone leave my room... it makes it that much worse hearing rowdy teens yelling and screaming... I can't imagine how a older couple would deal with that.

We plan on going back next year for sure... best party hotel in Cancun
