Hey everyone who happens upon this site.
If you have stayed at the Ambiance Villas, please let me know what you thought of it.
2 girlfriends and I are planning on taking a week trip as cheaply as possible (1 getting divorced and desperately needing a vacation and very low on cash). This seems to be one of the cheapest out there.
I realize it's not all-inclusive, but, I figure w/ the at least $30 we will be saving daily, we will be able to take full advantage of the EP card I'm planning on buying.
I'm so excited to be going back, but, I don't think that my enthuiasm is contagious w/ them. LOL Maybe it will change once they are down there and see what I mean by feeling "home sick" not having gone back since Oct.
Oh well, PLEASE reply to this post so I can get a couple of opinions regarding friendliness, cleanliness, etc. Not really concerned about anything else.
Thank you!

Default Ambiance Villas

Hi.just got back from this Hotel on Sunday. Really no big complaints.....the rooms were clean and the front desk was helpful. The water bottles at the outdoor bar is expensive so buy your water at the store which is in easy walking distance and take a fold down cooler with you that you can ice down water and take to the beach. The pool is nothing fancy but clean. The beach is beautiful and large. The grocery store nearby is easy to get to but limited on what they have. If you are in a suite that has a kitchen I would recommend going to Wal Mart and getting food to cook in some. Eating out is fun but can be quite costly. The bus stops right in front so it has very easy access. The maid service seemed a little slow but no other particular problems. It is nothing fancy but is a nice hotel.

Heck yeah me too. I sooo have a countdown going! Its gonna be oh so nice staying within walking distance of all the bars. Not to mention I would have to think the beach is gonna be in superior shape than the rest of the strip.

Yes, you can bring people back to the hotel. The security is out at night but they arent checking people or asking any questions.

Its a great place to stay, just try and get a room up by the pool.

My husband and I stayed at the Ambiance Villas the end

of November, 2007.

The hotel was quiet, tranquil and very clean.

The hotel is in a GREAT location, you can walk to restaurants

and malls and party central.

The food and drinks are reasonably priced,

and the staff is very nice.

The BEST thing is the beach, it's absolutely gorgeous!

We would highly recommend the Ambiance Villas!

Does Ambiance Villas have an Entertainment Tour booking office in the lobby? or do we need to go elsewhere?

There appears to be a tour desk at the Ambiance Villas:

Has anyone stayed here recently? We are planning on a family trip to Cancun w/ 3 young adults (age 19). I was thinking of either getting a 2 bedroom at here at Ambiance and just paying for meals....OR if I find a good deal, maybe 2 sep. rooms at an AI, not sure where, but I wanted to be close to party central...we probably wont see the boys much anyway, at that age, they do their own thing (until they need money, ha!).

I stayed there in 06 and it was perfect. It wasnt too crazy but it was close enough to walk to the action.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Beach was calm and wasnt as gorgeous as the intoxicating blue waves you find on the other side but it did just fine.

Good luck with the decision and have a great trip!

OK here is my old screen name post when I originally wanted to go, so now 2 years later looks like we will be doing it finally, but for my son's 21st bday in December...the boys will have their own room of course and mostly do their own thing except for dinnertime lol...Myself and my BF will be going too and bringing another cpl to hang out with.

BTW the name of this hotel has been changed to "Beachscape Kin Ha"

Has anyone stayed recently? I dont think we want to do AI, want to be able to explore and eat out more and not be chained to the resort.

Default Quiet atmosphere

This is what I'd call a "family" place.

It's definitely not where you'd go if you were seeking some action, it's very "tranquil".

So, if that's what you're looking for, it can be a good choice.

Thanks V - Although it's a "family" vacation, not sure we require a quiet place...we chose it as its walking distance to the "action" and the price was nice too as we need 2 rooms...I'd like to be somewhere more lively so the boys can have fun...I will keep looking, but If I dont find anything we will probably stay here...we can always "go to the fun" (bars etc) rather than rely on a fun lively pool atmosphere...which I think we'd be more likely to find at an AI..I wanted to avoid AI, but I guess we can do that if we have to, wanted to experience restaurants weve never been to and do a few outings...

This is my Dad´s choice when he comes for a visit. The beach is amazing, and the accomidations are great as well. And you for sure can´t beat the price. But if you really want those pool activites for the boys, and for you guys as well, do look into an AI, and alot of times you can find some great ones right around the same price...or cheaper. And you won´t feel guilty for not eating at the Resort all the time. A few doors down is the Riu Cancun, which gets my vote for that particular area for AI. But don´t limit yourself, as the bus ride from the furthest point in the Hotel Zone to the Party Zone is only about 10 min....which is about the walk from BeachScape to the Party Zone.

Very good point about a bus ride being 10 mins compared to the walk...I was thinking of expanding the area up to KM 11.5 or so, so that would only be a few minutes of a bus ride or even walkable 15 mins I think..
I've stayed at the RIU and I LOVED it, but not really affordable for this trip as we need 2 rooms..I would like to find an AI for under $150/nt if possible..I will keep looking, and thanks for the valuable input!

I had a friend stay at Riu Cancun a few weeks ago and paid $770 AI including air from Philly; and she booked two weeks before traveling. It's worth it to keep looking.
