I have a chance to get a good deal on 9 days here starting on February 22nd; reading the TripAdvisor reviews gives me a headache, they are all over the board! Some saying "stay as far away as possible" and others saying it was a great place ....who to believe? Bottom line; I am a 38 -year old single Dad with a 15-year old girl on her winter break from school; will we like it? And, how to avoid/ignore the timeshare "sharks" which I hear are so prevelant around this place and when we step outside?? I don't WANT a timeshare and don't want this hassle on our vacation. Thanks all, this would be my/our first trip to Mexico, we live near Boston Patrick - Shannon

just got back from krystal on sunday after 1 weeks stay. nice hotel, clean, but absolutely zero beach to speak of. there are giant sand bags off the sea wall to break up the waves. you will have to go to at least the salvia condos to begin to see a beach.

I would stay away from this place; they are all over the internet for running a timeshare scam. Simply type "Krystal scam" into any web browser and you will be presented with many testimonies concerning the scam they are executing. Do yourself a favor and stay away from NH Krystal Cancun.

| my in laws just got back from using my timeshare the first week of march. they also said the entire beach was washed away and they had to walk next door to use the beach. besides that it was awesome. they are actualy tearing one of the older building down so they have room for a beach again. as to the timeshare "scam" not any different than any other timeshare hotel. be careful and practice saying NO when sober and you can do it drunk too. frank

Has anyone stayed in the new Krystal Club building yet? I'm curious to hear reviews of the rooms. Also interested to find out if there are any construction / maintenance issues at the resort that we should be aware of.

We just returned from the NH Krystal in Cancun. Overall we were rather dissapointed. The new club building has so much potential but unfortunately was a major dissapointment. When we arrived only one elevator (out of 2) was working. Our room had trim missing in various places. There was no toilet paper... The iron and ironing board were missing and the clock was 15 minutes slow. The rooms are very plain looking. Over our stay we were without hot water and had to take cold showers one morning. On a couple of occaisions both elevators were out of order. The last being when we were checking out. So we had to carry our luggage down 6 floors. The lobby and older buildings are showing their age. The entire resort could use some major renovations. We did see two workers constantly cutting grass and watering plants & flowers and a couple others doing general labor. This is far less than we saw at other resorts including Temptation. We visited Temptation on July 6th and we saw workers everywhere doing things. On the plus side the employees were all friendly and helpful. Hacienda El Mortero has incredible food and service. The rest of the resort food is good. Beware of any "resort credits" or "discount coupons" you may have. They only allow you to use these on "regular rate" services. We had a $100 resort credit and 20% off of Massage. The regular rate for a massage was $120 USD for a 50 minute massage. We would have to pay this rate for the discount and only $20 per person can be applied from the resort credit. After doing the math it was cheaper to go with the package deal. So basically the discounts and credits end up being USELESS!!! But of course these credits and discounts were what attracted us when making our booking... We had a great time in Cancun but it had nothing to do with this resort. When we return KRYSTAL will not be on our list of resorts to consider. We did take a walk across the street to the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach and OMG is this an incredible resort. Absolutely beautiful!!!
