| The boys and I are heading to the GP on 2/1 for a four day stay. Second time to Cancun (first time at BBG!) Since we're only there four days we're looking for the most bang for the buck. What's the singles atmosphere going to be like at GP? Would a booze cruise or a nightclub tour be better? Thanks, in advance, for a response..............21 days and counting!!

| Its more of a couples resort....I don't think there is any doubt about that. Average age is 35-45. Not that there are not single ladies there. We have run into many while there. I would plan on going with the entertainment staff to CocoBongos, DaddyO's, etc.....and the Tiki bar late nights! |

| In our opinion, Temptations has more of an adult atmosphere. Being topless is 50-60%, from our three trips there. GP is more laid back. The food is better at the GP and you do not need reservations for the speciality restaurants. In fact, the bufffet is not open in the evenings. Last year, topless was 25-30%, but I am told that was unusually high, not the norm. (Look under last year's TA thread, Captain Bill, free the twins.) However, it is allowed at both resorts at the pool and on the beach. If you are seeking adult themed fun, I recommend Temptations. However, we have not been there in two years and with the new renovations, I am not sure. Other threads on this site will give a current opinions. |

| -40 wind chill this weekend to go with a bunch of new snow, we should have left last week and stayed for a month. I guess the income and job thing gets in the way of a good time. |

| We have stayed at BBG(Temptations now) twice and Golden Parnassus. The beach/water at the Golden are so breath taking we will probably never go back to BBG. BBG was fun we had a great time but we go to Mexico for the beach not so much for the pool activities. |

| 15 days and counting. Corona, your comments summarize our thoughts, comparing the two resorts. Maybe when the BBG is completely renovated and if the reviews are positive, we will return. Viking, we are saving our beads for your arrival. I can't seem to get a party started here or in TA. I found a good party in Playa on the 9th that we intend to go to. |

| Getting ready to book another trip for some sun and fun. Our group has stayed in and around Cancun several times. We are looking at the Golden Parnassus and the prices seem a bit higher than other standard hotels with 4 star average rating. Does anybody have an opinion on whether this hotel is worth the extra money? Also, does anybody have a lead on an online booking site with competative pricing? sp

| Our price for the Golden P, is less than similar hotels. However, we buy the package deal so I do not know about the daily room rate. I would suggest Alpha rooms if you are booking the room and flight independently. This will only be our second time but we had a great time last year. Good to excellent food and a fantastic staff. |

| We always book as a package. Flying out of St. Louis and most four/five star hotels we've stayed at in the past have run around $1,000 per person for 7 days. The Golden Parnassus is coming in around $300 per person more. It's not the price that bothers me...it's the feeling that I'm paying more and maybe getting less. It could be that I'm getting this feeling due to some reviews stating that the pool is small and quiet....and not much activity happening. I usually discount most reviews because of their nature...food/service/bedding..etc. I could use some feedback from you veteran travelers who have been there. Thanks in advance!!

| Being near a large airport saves you a bunch of money. We paid over 3K, both of us for the week, package with insurance, oceanview and the cheap transfers. However, Omaha was the same price as Des Moines. SL is about a six hour drive and then pay for parking might not be worth the extra travel and time involved. The GP's pool is small and relatively quiet. The highlights, for us, are the excellent service, above average food, nice beach and the size of the resort, small. You can esily walk around ther resort in minutes. The pool has the volleyball etc... We have stayed at the BBG three times and that place really parties during the day. The GP is tame compared to the BBG. But it has great appeal to my wife and this is her week. NO reservations for the speciality restaurants, a BIG plus. Topless is allowed and probably 10-25% take advantage of this (she does). It just works for us. |

| Well, we're actually from Iowa. It's a 2 1/2 hour trip to St louis. Buy a hotel for $65 with free shuttle and park and fly and it makes sense for us. Wake up refreshed....enjoy the evening before the early morning flight. I like it kinda middle of the road. Lots of activities. A little crazy. Lots of people having fun. Just short of early 20 year olds throwing up in the pool and causing fights. Two years ago a group came in and ended up breaking lounge chairs. Luckily it was our last day. As long as the beers flowing and everybodies having fun...it will be great. Just had got the impression we might be the only ones participating. But, hey, this is Cancun....I'm sure I'm wrong.

| There is always a group to party with or just sit and enjoy the water. I do not believe that you will be unhapppy, if you know that this is not the Ritz as far as the building is concerned. When reviews talk about things that we know are not true, water-downed drinks etc.. I am not concerned about their comments. Go and have fun. |

| We will give our opinion, if we return. Last year we had a great time. Eight days and counting very slowly. However, for some reason, at home, it has went from -26 F last week to an expected high of 52 today and 5 tonight. Hard to figure out. |

| We will be interesetd to see your trip report because of the changes at the BBG, TTR. If nice shoes is no more, I do not believe that we will return to the TTR. As well, they will have to develop a night life, until at least 1 AM, if they want to cater to the party crowd. The last reviews have been very mixed, but hopeful. |
