| It's not that bad- high temps for the next five days are predicted to be 26-29 C. (78-84 F.). As I write, early morning, it's clear and sunny, but the pattern has been for it to "cloud up", later in the day. The problem in recent weeks seems to have been warmer air off the Pacific streaming over the mountains of central Mexico, generating a lot of clouds and, from time to time, colliding with cold fronts coming down from the U.S., bringing some rain, as well. That pattern has broken up a bit, it seems, which should mean warmer and sunnier weather in our part of the world. | Our days now are running sunny and warm, if not hot. Highs of 86 F. is what we're experiencing now. Come on down, the weather's fine! |

A couple of weeks ago it was pretty cold for this time of year. But now it's swung the other way and is a little warmer than normal. Imho the Caribbean is too cold to go into every winter and spring. I don't know how you tourists do it. I can only get in it in the summer and fall.

If the weather holds, you're looking at 29-30 degrees, for a high, and partly cloudy skies. It's gorgeous, right now, and makes those of us who live here feel mighty lucky! Using the website below, you can check the skies over our part of the world. It's now clear over much of Mexico, and clear out over the Pacific, a good indicator of weather to come: look also at the patterns of weather over the U.S., as our cold fronts will come down from their, when they do. At the moment, there's nothing brewing! http://www.stormpulse.com/ Last edited by V; 01-24-2010 at 04:58 AM.

Weather forecasts for this area ALWAYS predict a CHANCE of rain. Always. Yet we get more than 300 days a year of sun here. The reality is there is usually a chance of rain here, and it doesn't usually rain. Ignore the weather forecast. We're in dry season now and will be until June. So if there's rain it will be short-lived and warm.

I have been going to Cancun for many years and most times in Fall when the weather can be rainy. Outside of escaping the day before Wilma hit, we have never had any weather problems. I have been in having lunch and there would be rain and the sun would return before going back outside

There have been more sunny and warm days, in recent weeks, than the opposite. This AM, it's partly cloudy, a little breezy, and we're planning to head to the beach early this afternoon to catch some rays. Looks like a very low probability of snow, today. Come on down, there'll be more than enough warm weather and sunshine to have a good time. (There's just been one period I recall this winter in which there was more than a day or two of cloudy and cool weather, and that week or so was so remarkable that we're still focusing on it, as this thread suggests.) _____________________ Later- Well, the weather made an ass of me, yesterday, when the temps dropped into the 50s at around 7 P.M. It's 5 A.M., now, and already a good deal warmer, as Cancun pushes back against this attempt by Florida to spoil our weather, here. Last edited by V; 02-14-2010 at 04:05 AM.

Does it typically get this cool in the evenings? I am packing light and wasn't planning on bringing pants or long sleeved shirts or anything, but I don't want to be chilly at night...

When we were there it sometimes got chilly at night from the wind blowing in. We were glad to have our little pull over jackets, pretty much just a windbreaker.

Your coming from CT, so wear a jacket to the airport. Nothing heavy, but you are leaving a very cold climate, so you'll want one anyway. A light jacket is all you will need, as the wind from the Ocean does get the nights here a little chilly.

Just returned from 2-10 to 2-14 trip. If the wind is blowing, a day on the beach can be sort of cold, especially if you are wet. The pools are freezing cold. The ocean is much warmer. Generally our temperatures were around 75-80 during the day and in the lower sixties at night. A time or two we went under 60. Again, it's the wind that will make a difference. One day was so windy the sand on the beach was painful. Another day was completely calm. We had periods of good sun every day, rain a couple of times, but nothing serious. At 75, however, it's the wind that make you cold. Otherwise, it's quite pleasant. Take pants and long sleeves for night time. I know the ladies want to wear slinky little dresses, but you better take something warmer or you will regret it. The locals called it "Febrero Loco." They were freezing. Personally, I turned off the AC in our room the day we arrived, and never turned it back on. I've been to Cancun somehwere between 20 and 30 times, and I've never done that before. Again, you can have fun, and you can still get in the ocean. Laying on the beach is fine if there's no wind or if you are in a sheltered place. (Women especially) Take something with sleeves and long pants for evening. I almost always wear shorts, but only wore them one evening. My wife wore a short dress twice, but had a sweater with her. Even so, she finally gave up and wore pants the last couple of nights. You will be much happier if you're prepared.

| Okay, great. Thank's for the update!!! Even if I have to wear pants, it's still way better than the snow covered winter wonderland we have here....
