Default El Pescador's closed?????

I saw on Tripadvisor that El Pescador's has closed . Can any of you locals confirm this or somebody whos been to Cancun lately.

I sure am hoping that is not true, but I am probably wrong.

Our favorite restaurant in Mexico. Too sad.

We wanted to try El Pescador for the 1st time this year after hearing rave reviews about it. However, when we told the guy to get us a taxi as that was where we wanted to go, he said it was closed. That was wk. #4.

Yes closed but in the same area "Tulipanes" on the street that runs parallel on the corner is a good fish place.

Richard,

To clarify, if you are on Tulum, at Burger King, where you would walk down Tulipanes and El Pescador, are you talking about one street to the left, on the corner, across from the Parque las Palapas?

If so, I am told that this is a good seafood restaurant with a buffet, at least for lunch. I just have not tried it.

And that pedestrian street is also named Tulipanes. A few other streets around the park have the same name, but they are all one way streets except for Tulipanes. Alcatraces, Gladiolas, Margaritas to name a few.

Jeez, the first time I went to El Pescador was 1991. It was an institution. I always ate Grouper Veracruzana.

Isnt El Pescadores where the booze cruise to the Isla Mujeres left from? We were hoping to do that again in mid April.

TJ,
We have eaten at the buffet place there across from parque. Its got a chain link fence around it right? It was good as I remember it. We didnt do the buffet, because it was closing, I did look at the buffet as it was being removed. My wife confirms it was good food at a good price.

I really like the thread on the Living board about where the locals eat. Ohhhh I am getting hungry for seafood now.......

Only 5 days to go!!!!
