Try some specialized Spring break agencies, you might find a good price. If even that is over your budget, you can always try looking into non-AI hotels or even hostels.

I also thought about flying via London, but I got a cheaper deal flying from Venice via Munich and Philadelphia. I think most budget flights leave from Gatwick - try www.farecompare.com/ (they offer search through multiple sites)

Also, try searching through specific airlines - Delta has some decent prices, and Virgin Atlantic, sometimes even US Airways. You can expect 1-2 stopovers though.

For airfare try www.bing.com it will give you an indication when to buy your tickets...it compares all the site and it gives a history of prices for that flight for the last several months...good luck!

Let's see. Dude, you want a cheap hotel during Spring Break, which is like a week or so away, and you want to match that with a cheap flight from London.

If you can afford to come to Cancun from London, at the peak time of the year, live it up. Spend some bucks and do it right. You won't be drinking Stella's but they will be about 1/4 the cost of a beer in London.

BUT YOU HAVE TO TIP HERE PLEASE. CANCUN HOTEL ZONE PEOPLE GET PAID NOTHING AND NEED THE TIPS TO SURVIVE.

If you can get to JFK or FLL, you can get cheap direct flights to CUN on Jetblue, www.jetblue.com and Spirit, www.spiritair.com, respecitively.

I always found Continental had the best rates in and out of LGW but I was traveling the other direction.
