When we were there at the end of February, there was no where in the Hotel Zone to get a camera or parts for one. Our cam broke when we were there and we could only find another at Wal-mart down town.

Actually you'll find the electronics are much more expensive there. People there are usually asking you to bring it to them. ![]() Jamie

I am a pro photographer in Cancun and I own Nikon and Fuji cameras. When I bought a new pro digital camera 2 years ago, I found it in stock at the Fujifilm store in downtown Cancun. They do carry other brands, but I have never needed to check inventory for Olympus products. So, I really have no idea if they will have what you want, but it can't hurt to check there. By the way, I checked prices online before making the purchase at the store here in Cancun. It was actually a bit cheaper for me to buy it here in Cancun than to go to the US to get it, or have it shipped from US. There are at least 2 Fujifilm stores in downtown Cancun. One on Avenida Tulum, between Chedraui and Burger King (sorry, but I can't remember which block), and another in Plaza Hong Kong. Go in knowing what you want because the staff isn't exactly knowledgeable. Also, I'm not sure how well they speak English. Good luck!

the lens I am after is the Olympus ZD E14 teleconverter Susan. I hope to do a lot of wildlife shots on isla mujeres it is about 6-7weeks before we are over so if you do come across one in your area it would be nice if you could pm me, the price here for one is over 140 dollars more than america I have roughly worked it out to around 5000 mexican pesos is what I would pay for one. if I get no response in a few weeks then I will get one sent over from america. cheers guys

haggis & neeps, I was in the Fujifilm store today and I asked about your Olympus lens. They don't carry Olympus products and said they didn't even know of a store in Cancun that carried Olympus. They said the closest place you might find one is Merida, a city several hours from Cancun. So, it looks like your best bet will be to order online from the US or make friends with someone in the US that will be here on vacation at the same time as you and have them deliver it to you. Good luck! Susan

thanks for that susan I have found a gentleman through google called Kerso who deals with cameras etc from my area who now stays over in the usa. and he has agreed to send one over to his sister and I will pay on collection. I do not know how he does it but on checking reviews through google etc he has a very high reputation and is almost 75 dollars cheaper than B&H cameras over in the states and that is even before they add packaging. alls well that ends well.
