| I have family staying in cancun and need to go to the hotel zone to visit them. I plan on taking the bus from playa del carmen to cancun to the bus station. What will it cost to take a taxi from there to the hotel zone. Is that the only way to get to the hotel zone? Thanks for any info you can give me. |

| Ok I was just asking this question a few days ago and this is the info I got. You can either take buses or taxi's. buses r the cheaper of the two and run every hour (or so i heard) you might take a look at my post... titled "OMG I need some help!! " posted by Jennm4u2v. It is under the cancun forum and all the locals really gave me some good info. |

| The combination of the ADO to Cancun, and the R-1 city bus both Tori and Gonzo have mentioned, would be a good choice for economy. The ADO service between Cancun and Playa runs every 10 minutes for the greater part of the day, and far into the evening, and costs 40 pesos, one way. The R-1, to and from the Hotel Zone, runs every 5-10 minutes, but it's popular, and you may have to stand for all or part of the journey, depending on the time of day. When you exit the bus station, turn right and walk to the street, Av Tulum; turn left and the bus stop will be straight in front of you, about 20 meters away. Coming back, you get off R-1 on the other side of Av Tulum, opposite the bus station, just after you pass Chedraui, and then cross the street to the ADO station. | Oops V, The stop FROM the HZ to the terminal is NOT in front of Chedraui. That would be Comercial Mexicana. Cross at the raised crosswalk and you have the right of way. Chedraui is on the corner of Coba and Tulum, almost where you live amigo. But you already knew that. Cheers.

| Your right, T.J., I should've said Commercial Mexicana, not Chedraui. |
