Default ADO to Airport

So I checked the ADO website and the schedule is not available. And I also checked this forum..nothing came up.
Can anyone tell me how often the ADO bus runs from Downtown to the Airport? And about how much it is?
Another question.... if you want to take the ADO from the Airport to Downtown, do you have to go to another terminal, or is there a bus at Term. 3?

Default ADO Airport Service

Hi, Tori, the ADO runs to the airport every half hour. Last time I took it I paid something like 40 pesos, either way. As I recall, it runs from very early AM to near MN, with about a six hour period, during the night, in which there is no service. It is reliable, and runs on time. Tickets are sold at the bus, if you are taking it from the airport.

Within the last six months they've seemed to be experimenting with different launch points for the ADO from the airport. For some time, it was at T2, then at T3: where it may be now, I can't say, but there is a free shuttle service between the terminals that we've used when you have to change terminals for any reason.

It's a good way to get to and from the airport, especially if you're traveling alone and don't have too much luggage! (There's no luggage limit I'm aware of, I'm just referring to any inconvenience you might experience in managing a lot of luggage, either end.)

Thanks V... very helpful info

oh, how about taking a dog in a small carrier on it? How could I find out about that? That could be the make or break in taking the bus. I sure would HATE paying for a Taxi. uuuuugh

Tori B,

I have not heard what V says about "launch points" being tried at T3. But the cost each way is $45 Mxn and either $4 or $5 US. No US coins given or taken.

I doubt there would be a problem with a tiny dog in a carrier but if you need a cab you should be able to get one anywhere downtown for $150 or less TO THE AIRPORT. Or if you have any friends with a car or SUV, I am sure they would be tooo happy to help.

And conversely, the ADO leaves the airport, presumably still at T2, every half hour. It used to take 24 minutes door to door and I imagine that has speeded up by a minute or so since the road improvements at the Tulum and Bonampak intersection. Ah, the good old days of taking your life in your hands trying to jump ahead of 2 or 3 cars. Not me, but the other crazies. Thank God we still have Labna and Yaxchilan to keep us on our defensive driving toes. A 4 way stop with no rules. It's a hoot.

TJ.. are you hinting to something???? Or am I reading too much into it, LOL!!!!!
I lived 6 miles from the PHL Airport, so it was so convenient getting to and from. This always seems to be so stressful and the pup never helps any.

My boss lives in the area of Labna and Yaxchilan, so if you think driving that intersection is hard, try walking it. I have to look right, left, forwards, backwards about three times before making a dash.
