I have been lurking on several Cancun forums lately..and have noted more than I would like the topic of overbook bumping from the Golden to the Great..of late, there is a very bothersome negative post regarding guest who were bumped to the Great due to overbooking on TripAdvisor. We are arriving peak spring break and I am certain the resort is at capacity. We booked thru a travel agent who went thru GOGO Vacas.. It is nuts to me that folks make plans and reservations responsibly and early and still "may" get bumped to a child-filled resort- clearly there is a reason adults book adult resorts (not anti-children, I have successfully raised two) . I called our agent today, who in turn called GOGO and they said this has never happen to their patrons ..but I still have concerns.. Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, scare stories of this mess?

Nothing you can do. The Golden has been known to bump people. Usually happens in late Feb or March. I have used GoGo travel and have never had a problem. Just cross your fingers and make the best of it. We only go to adults only properties for the most part, and have been there many times, but have stayed at the Great as well. If it happened, just get up and take the van to the GP in the morning and stay all day. THere is also an adults only area on the second floor of the great on the west side. Great place for late day sun, and adult fun as well. It will be ok.

We jut got back this morning - AWESOME time! They bumped us to a regular room the first night, we didn't arrive at the hotel until 8:30, but the next day put us into our Golden Club Oceanview room (acutually it was a view of the palm tress from the 2nd floor). Almost EVERYONE we talked to, which was just about everyone had a problem or a story about their room. Don't worry about it though, everyone, Jose, Fonzi, Kuko, Margarita - they all make up for it. You will have an awesome time with great memories. Wish we were still there.

| Normally if you would get bumped, it is to a better hotel, which "may" be a positive. More bang for the buck, etc. The bad thing would be if you are traveling with others and split up. Also, if they delayed in getting you and your things from one property to another, and cut into your vacation time. These are not considered low end or spring break hotels so even if bumped, my bet is that you will be happy during your trip and will have fond memories. Good luck,

I also booked through GOGO vacations at the Golden Parnassus. I called the Golden and confirmed that we are good to go for the Golden and not being bumped. I was given a confirmation number. I would recommend you do the same.

thanks O..this is exactly what I needed..I didnt want well wishes and good luck strokes, but ACTION! ha )at least you lined me up with a plan...I took your advice, made the call, spoke to a GP receptionist who not only assured me of our Oceanview room but, as you said, gave me a confirmation number to present when we arrived.. so, it may be for nothing, but at least at this point I feel like we have done what we can, I will let you know if the efforts paid off and again thanks for the action plan..
