Default things to do

Hi everybody, Im coming to cancun end of june for my honeymoon from britain and I have been doing loads of research about excursions and such and so far I like the look of the dancer cruise, captain hook cruise, harry's steakhouse, dolphinarium and coco bongo's. Can anybody who has been to these places give me any info or recommend anything else to do?? I fancy a bit of culture aswell as I probably wont get the chance to return to mexico but chichen itza seems too far away and dont fancy sitting on a bus for 3 hours in the mexican heat. Thanks x x x

Of the list you mentioned, the Captain Hook cruise and Coco Bongo's are must do in my opinion.

The Dancer cruise is just so-so the boat is too big, you'd be better taking a catamaran trip.

Swim with dolphins is a great experience, a little pricey though.

Please check out the main website,
Cancun Tours: Information on Tours in Cancun.

all the main tours are covered and at far better prices you'll find once you are at your hotel.

Try the tulum myan ruins. Not as far to go and still a beautiful site to see.

Chichen Itza is a must- like you say you may never return to Mexico agin. The buses are super air conditioned and probably one of the coolest places to be in the summer.I always tell our visitors to take a sweater.
Enjoy your trip.

Coco Bongo is awesome, and very different from clubs I've been to anywhere else. It's a combo of Vegas show and dance club, and the music they play appeals to a wide range of ages, so if you have a large group for your wedding, it's a place pretty much everyone would enjoy.

Dolphin swims are also a wonderful experience. I haven't done them in Cancun, but Dolphinus at Xcaret Park was very well-run and gave us lots of interaction with the dolphins. Also, the park is really cool--it incorporates Mayan history and local culture (not as authentic as visiting the ruins, but a good option). They have costumed actors who act out some of the Mayan rituals, animal exhibits, an awesome beach, cenotes you can snorkel in, and a night show where they play the Mayan game with the flaming ball.

As for the ruins, I agree Chichen Itza is worth a visit if you are willing to commit the time, but Tulum is a really good alternative.

Have fun with the wedding planning!
