Unhappy Rain..Rain...Rain....ggrrr

Ok so I know people have said that it may rain for a small bit each day, but the weather has 60 % rain almost everyday next week !!!

Im taking friends for their first time and would hate for daily rain to bring the mood down....

It looks like a 50% chance of rain. That doesn`t mean that it will rain all day. Hopefully it will only be a shower or 2 just to cool it down a little. It actually has rarely rained here in the the past month or so.

We are in a SERIOUS drought. We need the rain as since the beginning of March it rained MAYBE twice. But since then it has forecasted exactly what you see and NOTHING happened. Don't even think about it.

As Tori said, we are suffering a severe drought, causing massive fires in the jungle etc.. They were saying it was almost a state of emergency for lack of rain. I'll be very surprised if it does rain (and, well, as a local I'll be happy for it, we really need it though I know it will be a bummer for tourists).

there is a popular misconception about weather forecasts! when a a 50% chance of rain is forecast it means that 50% of the coverage area will recieve rain usually isolated and not a big risk of rain ..right now we are in the dry period hardly no rain and if it does its spotty and passes quickly ! just trying to spread a little sunshine!

I wouldnt mind the rain, it just makes it hard to plan excursions and such not knowing exactly how the day will be......we'll find out soon enough......6 more days....

so many excursions aren't even near your hotel, so even if it's sunny there, it could be a different story where you plan to go. It's the tropics. It's all a flip of a coin when it comes to weather.

Oh no gringo...I'm not sweating it, I'm not gonna be there till august. It's just that a couple people said that you needed rain cuz of drought and fires. It has rained here so much that our rivers are above flood levels and some of the towns along the rivers are starting to flood...soo..I was going to use my "mojo" lol... and will some rain to you all
Don't worry mom...I'll tell my "mojo gods" to do it the days before or after your arrival...not trying to "rain on your parade" hehe (sry...I couldn't help myself)

Forget the reports about rain. It would be a blessning for even 10 minutes of rain. We are all sweating to death here.

A rainy day in Cancun is better than a great day at work, but not to worry.

I thought we were going to get some rain today. At around 1:00pm the clouds were dark and heading my way (at playa totugas) but, not a drop. By 2:30, the dark clouds were gone and the sun came back with a vengance.
