Default Gran Melia Thread?

I can not find any threads on the Gran Melia in Cancun. Am I missing something? Trying to find info on the "Red Level" upgrade and was wondering if it was worth it if we are already doing the All Inclusive. We appreciate spending more money within reason for more service and options but I'm not entirely clear on how Red Level compares to standard WITH All Inclusive option. Their web site kind of leaves you wondering. I've looked on trip advisor and the subject is not well discussed or mentioned.

Going down on June 26. Thanks

The Red Level is one specifiic tower to the Hotel -You might get a little more fluff in the room when you arrive - We DID NOT have the Red Level when went there in Feb - However there is a private Pool and Cabana area for Red Level guests - It was quieter over there - If you go onto the beach it is open for all guests - I am not sure if there are other additional services there - There is plenty of access to the 2 bars in the othere area -I was happy with my AI experience - We are going back in July

Thanks for the reply. I kind of figured it may be a little "quieter" due to filtering out a lot of the budget college kids and families. I understand they also have a private balcony with lounge chairs. If I find the continental breakfast area seperate and perhaps less chaotic (like many tend to be), and other beers/drinks may be available, and standard pools are always crowded, I may upgrade but will play it by ear. I suspect it has many extra "tipping opportunities" as well which could be another draw-back in addition to the hefty cost.

Thanks again.
