Cancun Orphange

If anyone is coming to Cancun and wants to do something really great, that is really needed, we need sheets for single, twin, individual (call them what you want) beds at Casa Hogar Para Niños Esperanza, a local orphanage where I donate lots of time and a fair amount of $$. We also need funds to provide food items.

Donations of money are hugely appreciated. Every peso goes for the kids. Not a dime is spent for admin, travel or anything else - It's All About the Kids. We do our best to feed these kids, 14 at the moment, by funds donated from wherever we can solicit them.

We accept contributions by Paypal or checks mailed to our Houston bank account. We can arrange for things to be picked up if you are visiting Cancun. You can be a financial partner for as little as $10 a month. $10 buys a case of 12 liters of milk. Each week we provide 3 cases (36 liters) of milk, 12-15 dozen eggs, 30-35 lbs of meat, cheese, child XL diapers, cereal, juice boxes, etc. Costo and Sams generously deliver too old to sell bread, a few roasted chickens and fruits and veggies, although we have to toss some of the produce.

Please PM me if you would like to make a financial contribution or if you come to Cancun and want to bring something, as our needs are always changing. We need and provide a lot of back to school supplies, clothes, backpacks, etc. Dollar stores in the states are a great place to shop for things. We have boys and girls from 3-17. AND WE LOVE, AND WANT TO HELP, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

I'm interested in bringing a duffle bag of children's clothes and bedsheets. I'll be arriving on September 9th if you can arrange to stop by the Flamingo during that weekend. Let me know. I've mentioned this to friends and they like the idea too, might like to visit the orphange to take pictures, this could get some friends interested in a follow-up next year.

Sunday late morning or early afternoon will be the best time on our end. We can confirm before you leave for Cancun that we are good to go. Suggest you put a tag or note on the duffle saying CASA HOGAR and leave it with the bellman. I will be out of town that weekend but will send someone for sure and I will know who before you arrive and can give you their name as well.
