| Hi guys, We are heading to Cancun for a vacation next month and I have been seeing some mixed messages online regarding the departure tax. We will be returning to Toronto on Westjet and are both currently resident in Canada however our passports are of mixed UK and Japanese nationality. Will the departure tax apply to us? Most of what I've read states that flights to the US and Canada already have the tax included in the flight price but I just wanted to be sure really so that we could prepare for it. Thanks. |

| Sorry, just to add in case it makes any difference, we are not going there on a vacation package, we booked the flights online with WestJet directly and have organised our own hotel, airport transfers with separate companies. |

| That's correct. Normally it's just the UK charter airlines that require departure tax to be paid separately. Nationality doesn't come into it, it's an airline specific decision. You should be fine but best to check with Westjet to be sure. |

I'll give a Westjet a call just before we leave to make sure. | |
