Default Considering postponing trip, feedback

Weather.com indicates that in Cancun there will be a 60% chance of rain all week long.

Add to the the high probability of being stuck at the Airports on Tuesday all day long....

We are considering postponing this trip.

Can people that live in Cancun help me out today and tomorrow?

Please let us know if its raining in Cancun today, like your your sunny days raining all day and tomorrow please if it's not too much trouble.

Thanks....

We have been tracking the weather for a week and it climbed up to 60% prob..

Some more feedback from people living in Cancun is greatly appreciated.

We understand the tropical aspect but if its raining most of the day right now, well, that's no different then staying home.

Anyone else? and many thanks

No offense, and I have read so many of your posts and you are very smart.....so why would you post this? Its rainy season here as it is every year for 6 months. It can rain at any moment any day. Yesterday a BBQ was cancelled because it was pouring all day downtown. I was baffled cause in the hotel zone there wasn't a cloud in the sky where I was. Cancun is a large area, so that 60% indicates that it has a good chance of rain somewhere in the Cancun area. And that rain will likely not ruin your day. The same can happen when if you change your dates. A bad day in Cancun is better then a good day back home

Yeah, Diego, don't let those forecasts fool you, it's just like ToriB said; in fact, the weather has been especially nice in recent days, sometimes punctuated by showers, but mostly beautiful skies and weather. It's been partly cloudy, today, after some showers overnight, just the way I prefer it so it's not too hot in the sun- great time to be at the beach!

Toriiiiii, I am kind of flattered and at the same time nursing my bruise, nice jab kiddo....

I was unable to apply logic and reasoning to the weather in Cancun. Not familiar one bit with tropical weather.

With the high probability of spending all of Tuesday in airports I had to ask, 60% chance of rain and clouds here literally means a lousy day. I figured why not ask those that actually live there and can look out of their window and tell me.

First we need to wait for the airports to assess any damage and resume operations. I called but they dont have any information yet.

My wife's hopes will be lifted by the feedback. Given that you folks are indicating that bad weather can at times be isolated to different areas, we may have to do a bit of resort beach crashing, move around and about....anything to be under the sun.

We will try to focus on the airport updates.

I have only had one day out of the 30 i have been there be bad. I concur though about your situation with the airports...it would be a tough issue.

The one day it rained a lot..we still had a blast.

Really did mean it in the nicest way possible. Not sure what part of Jersey your from, but i am from Philly, and even they can't get the forecast right. Never!!!! its the same here as all info pretty much comes the same place.

As your resident Suncare Advisor, its imperative to let everyone know that on a COMPLETELY gray day... no sun or blue sky once so ever, you get up to 70% of the suns direct rays, and in turn the worse burns those days. So unless it's lightning out, stay and get your tan on. Just remember to keep applying sunscreen. As you can also fry in 30 mn.

I had about 10 minutes of rain while driving in town today, but it was not enough to turn on the wipers. Go figure.

It has to be great weather this weekend as my daughter and 7 others are coming Thurs for a bachlorette party. She is lucky with the weather. Living in Brooklyn she suggested that her fiance move his car at 2:30 am. He did and when they woke up today a tree had fallen in the exact spot. So she would not be coming if it is going to be bad weather as she can clearly (pun intended) see the future.

Tori is right about the BBQ getting cancelled. But we still had a feast and watched UFC and had tons of fun. Just not with BBQ involved. Well, I had tons of fun, thanks to my Mojitos with Cuban rum, Havana Club Aņejo Especial. Yummy.

I almost headed to the beach after church today. Would have been fine.

Just flicked over to the local weather channel. Mon - Wed show light showers and highs each day in the low 80's.

Really, though, it is the rainy season up till mid-Nov but it is rarely so rainy that it would mess up more than an hour or so per day. It's a crap shoot really unless you want to wait till 2012. For me, "the weather tomorrow is always going to be like it is today." If any kind of a storm is coming then you can bet it will be wet. Otherwise, I can promise that the weather guys don't know squat if you look at their forecasts.

Your call but I say go for it.

Tori, your comment is now much clearer to me.

Extremely hot and sunny the rest of the days.

We arrived on Aug 31 to partly cloudy skies. Stayed cloudy enough for a nice nap on the beach bed at Desire. Clear the rest of the time. I have been caught twice in 20 trips in real rain. Had 3 days of a tropical depression once. And the other time was in December.
