Default Nightlife in Low Season

Hi! Me and my housemate are looking to come to Cancun in a few weeks. However, my housemate has been before and having spoken to someone on the entertainment team in one of the hotels, has been dispirited having found out it is infact low season at the moment and its very quiet.

Whilst this doesnt bother me so much (i'm more of a sun junkie), shes concerned that the quiet hotels will have an effect on the nightlife, and that is one of our reasons for going.

Can anyone advise what it is like at the end of September??

Went to Three Hotels today... 2 were above 75% full... one was at 40%. Looked more like 10% to me. Depends on the resort. Some never go below 70% all "Low Season". When I used to be a vacationer here, I always came middle of October...Worse Occupancy...nightclubs were full, not obnoxiously overcrowded. BEST TME TO COME!!!!! The number of ppl never makes a party....YOU DO!!! Clubs during Spring Break can be a bust...cause the crowd is lame.

Tori is right on, the "slow" season is the best time to go. Clubs will have a good crowd and you'll save a few dollars going this time of year.

Thanks! That's definitely more reassuring - we've been keeping an eye on the royal webcam (the weather is our other concern, its a long way to come and a lot to pay for bad weather!) and the weather looks good - can cope with a shower a day!

Thats great point. I been to Cancun three times on 4th July and all times it was overcrowded at the hotel and nightclubs were also overcrowded with bunch of highschoolers.

I been to Cancun once in November, I LOVED IT!! Hotel wasnt too overcrowded and nightclubs were awesome!! Actual girls to guys ratio was some what 1x1 during that time of the year.

I hope it's same story towards end of October. This time I am coming in Oct 21st during regular weekends. I don't want it OVERCROWDED, I hate it. Just want right mix.

Great point, Tori!

You sound like you really know Cancun. Where would you send two 30-something women who love to dance but would like to avoid teenage Jersey-Shore cast rejects?

I am going with some friends by the end of september also. This is my second time in september there. I think in average, club night is ok , not too many people but you can have fun. Older people for sure (above 25 or 30).
I am always looking to make new friends , so if anyone is in Cancun from sept 24 to october 1st just send me a message . we are from Portugal.

Sorry, just seeing this...
Unless you are going in March, going anywhere will have all ages. I would say Mandala is probably the best place.

Mandala is great was my first time visiting this past trip i got open bar one night for 200 pesos im guessing as it was supposed to be a 'quiet night' but i prefered it like this, still plenty of people on the dance floor and its easy to move around the club meeting people rather than it being rammed and stuck shoulder to shoulder in the same spot all night.
