Hey Steve or any other locals, what are you hearing regarding this? Looks like Cancun is right in the path, but how strong is this one? Hopefully it is nothing!! Praying for you guys!

Thanks Jason, it's not going to be very pleasant that's for sure. It's predicted to strengthen to Cat 3 then drop down to a Cat 2 before it reaches the area.

Ok Guys; We were the ones sleeping on the concrete floor in a school 11 miles inland. Been there done that hope you dont have to do it,but should you get hit here are a few suggestions. Charge your cell phones, make sure you have international calling, stock up on water, non perishable foods, if you are on special medications - stock up. You can buy them across the street from Temptaions. Probably alcohol (if there is a red alert,no alcohol will be sold), a small flashlight,a doall/swiss army knife came in handy, a poncho and a big dose of common sense. If you do get evacuated you will be allowed to take 1 extra set of clothes, a pillow and 1 blanket, make sure you take gym shoes (not just sandals).Place all you clothes except the extra pair you take with you in your suitcase in the bathtub or shower, close the doors. The staff has been through this before and will take excellent care of you (leaving their families behind).Treat them with respect and you will be fine. Be careful and stay safe....Pam & Barry
