EVERYTHING OASIS! NEWBIE QUESTIONS, COMMENTS LOOK HERE FIRST

Hey guys, as time gets closer to Spring Break, undoubtedly there will be TONS of Oasis questions and new posts regarding it. I wanted to give this a shot, to post all questions, comments, concerns, photos, anything Oasis related. Not sure how well it will work with the newbies coming in, but we'll leave it out in the open for now and see what happens. What do you all think?

Tomorrow or Wednesday, I'll go back and dig up some threads and put some links up, if anyone wants to help and post some links to bigger Oasis threads in here that would be great. Thanks!

I am going to use this post to say this: if you want an all out party 24/7 7 days a week and dont mind 5 dudes to 1 girl, then def come here. If you dont mind not bein able to order shots at most of the bars, then come here. I personally was robbed and our hallway flooded with water when it rained. I was also almost forced into somethine called guys gone wild with fletch, thankfully we escaped LOL my 2 cents.

As a newbie I will use this thread for all my Oasis needs

And I love people going around drunk and 24/7 party, wouldn't have it any other way even if it does mean you lose a bit of the quality in the place :lol:

oh i was there and i got a local discount to get into the oasis and got around 8 drinks at a time which i gave to cindy or sam or whomever was around... and it was waaaaaaaaay faster than anyone else lol

cool! even when i try to stick to the one thats right in front of the snack bar... since im quite tall... the way to the other with 2 drinks in each hand can get a bit dangerous hahaha

i saw on some videos a while back that they actually set up a stage right on the beach of the oasis not just beside the pool, do they still do that?

Stage is next to the pool, not on the beach. There is not that much beach left to set up big stage.

i also heard though that cancun was doing a big beach restoration so maybe they were able to clean it up and make it larger?

Yeah, some big hurricane washed off most of the beach 2-3 years ago. They have been doing restoration but I don't see a lot of progress during my last two trips.

News: The First Sand Has Been Pumped Onto Cancun's Beaches
2 November 2009

As of last Sunday, November 1, Cancun has received the first 16 thousand cubic meters of sand in the beach reconstruction project.

The first sand began being pumped onto the playa in front of the Royal Sunset hotel at kilometer 10.2 of Cancun's hotel zone. They will move north from there, toward Punta Cancun.

There is a possible stumbling block along the way which may cause delays. There is a dispute over the use of an underwater sand bank near Cozumel. Currently, they are dredging sand from an underwater sand bank near Isla Mujeres, which contains approximately 1.5 million cubic meters. A little over 5 million cubic meters is needed to complete the project. The courts are yet to decide if they will be allowed to dredge the sand bank off of Cozumel for the remainder of the sand to complete the project.

Keep checking back for updated beach photos as the project continues!
