some advice, never been to the oasis.. is it easy to get bottled water? or is this something I should bring?

also didn't see Gatorade on anyone's list, some of that just before passing out and less of a hangover so drinking the next morning just as enjoyable as the day before

You can get bottled water at Oasis's own convinent store in the lobby. Or across the street. Bring bottle water to Cancun is a little too much.

The bottle water isnt expensive either at the Oasis little store. But most people wont be buying water just drinking alcohol most of the time.

I am DEFINITELY packing ear plugs this year.... something. I have never in my life had so much ear pain as I do every time I fly to cancun. sometimes it lasts for like 3 days!!! Hurts like a mother!!

We are planning on only going downtown to a bar one night (its too expensive)... which one is the best? I have heard good things about Daddy O's and Senor Frog but I was thinking Coco Bongo's sounds like the best overall experience. Any input??

Most important items to bring would be sunblock and aloe vera. Would be a bitch to be burnt during most of your vacation!! No amount of alcohol can make that pain go away

You have to go to all 3.....175 bucks and your golden for all 3 nights (includes tips, I tip more but I like the service we get after 1 big tip at the start of the night). I have the best luck at Frogs (just the right atmosphere for a guy like me) but Coco Bongo is a place you have to go at least once if you're in Cancun.

I definitely recommend coco bongo! They put on such a great show! I've never been to senor frogs, although i've walked past it many times between 11pm and 2am and found many drunken teens past out all over the front of it. looked soooo funny like something u would see in a movie! we are going to try out senor frogs this year though. hopefully theres more of a slightly older crowd than 18 and 19 year olds.... but probably not lol.
DaddyO...... omg..... please don't waste your time there. I hate that place. That and DaddyRock are soooooooooooooooooooooo boring! I found myself twiddling my thumbs last year at one of them. It felt like a busy starbucks that served alcohol instead of coffee.

absolutely! I got sun poisoning the first time i went in 2004. My skin was purple and bubbly.... and 2 days later it was so hard you could knock on it practically.

The trip... kinda tight on cash right now with taxes due and all that fun stuff... We are planning on going to Coco Bongo one night but prebuying the pass at the hotel or whatever...so not including that. Just bringing like 100 for everything else, tips, etc etc. Why is that not realistic?

Unless you're not planning on leaving your hotel ever....its not realistic. You wont make it. Coco Bongo will run you at least 35 by itself. Then you have to worry about your transportation everywhere and food and what not, unless, like I said you dont plan on leaving the hotel. I bring minimum 750 each year, and I sometimes still struggle haha

Staying at your hotel can be fun during the day but you WILL want to go out every night. I would try and budget a little more if u can. Say 70 bucks per night of your stay and u could scape by and still go out. You could even go cheaper and budget 50 bucks a night but that leaves zero room for the bus and tips. Half of the cancun SB experience is the nightlife.

For a week, I would say that this is not unreasonable...although most people could get by (and have a good time for $70-$100/night). For a weeklong trip, I can't see going with much less than around $500...

Luckily for me, I have been traveling on business for 100 of the past 120 days, so I have had almost nothing for food expenses - versus being back at home where it can get pretty pricey. If the time of my return from Europe (2/12) to my Cancun trip (3/13) is similar travel for work and the corresponding lack of expense, it could especially be a shitshow this year with not feeling bad about spending!

I'm taking £600 this year (1 week), i spent £1200 last year and £800 the year before (bother 2 weeks) but the £ to $ was 1:2 2 years ago and 1:1.3 last year

I bring about 700-1500 every year..... but i dont do anything. Last year i went to carlos n charlies once for the CC party and i went to one of the sucky daddy clubs. I think that wasn't anymore than 50 all together since i dont drink.... i just paid the entrance fee. We stayed for 7 days and i brought most of that money back. I did spend all 250 ones i had for tips.... and we went shopping at la isla and ate down town..... also took a trip to isla mujeres and spent well over 100 bucks. I honestly dont think I spent more than 400 the whole week i was there.

TIPS: BUT I also never tipped my first 3-4 years i went because it said that "tips are included" with your AI. I then talked to my waiter at the hotel and he said they share their tips with everyone. The front desk, janitors, gardeners, entertainment staff, maids, etc and if you stay a week, they may only see 50 cents in gratuities for your stay. Ever since then we started tipping for everything. However, I never noticed bad service when i didnt tip. I am also not picky so maybe i just didnt notice! lol I would say, dont feel obligated to tip, but tip whenever service is AMAZING!

I didn't mind staying at our hotel at night or galavanting downtown. this will only cost you <1 usd to ride the bus..... and to just walk around and take it all in is free! there is always something going on. There are shows at our hotel, games, dinner, and a bunch of bars and lounges where we can party, play pool and meet others! Even karaoke! whoot! It all depends on your personality and what you'd like to do! i'm not a big club person..... but i do like to dance! I just dont like being jam packed with a bunch of horny guys trying to molest me. I wanna dance and i wanna dance alone!

I think my budget is on the higher range. I don't have all inclusive. I plan to get like 3 bottles of Goose at duty free, viagra, other party favors, bottle service every night, etc. And I take a lot of taxis. Last year, I spent $1180. This year, I'm going slightly crazier since I got a bonus and raise enough to pay for 20+ Cancun trips.

Hey henry how do u go about getting bottle service in the clubs? do u just ask a waiter in the club or do u need a group of people? And also how much does it generally cost? or does it depend on what u want on your table? cheers

We do it through Apple Vacation. They'll setup the whole thing for us (transportation, express entrance, table, etc). Price depends on number of people, on club, and on the night. Last year we had 10-15 people per night and we paid about $40-60 per person if I remember correctly. (Andrew, correct me if I'm wrong here because that part of the night is always fuzzy for me) I think that comes with 1 or 2 bottles but once we have our table, we can just keep on tipping the waiter to bring us more bottles.

Are you staying at Oasis? If so, you should come find me, Andrew, Steve N, or Fletch early afternoon. We'll decide where to go for the night, Andrew will go sweet talk to the rep and negotiate price and let everyone know. We'll then go pay at the Apple Vacation booth at Oasis around 5PM (don't have to all go together, usually you can just let them know you are with Andrew's party). Then we meet up in front of Oasis for the van to come pick us up around going out time.

Oh man, that's the worst! Yea I got sun posiening on spring break in South Beach, FL once, but thankfully not til the last day. Still, it was the most miserable feeling and I looked like a lobster and couldnt move my body the whole flight/trip home. yea, never will let that happen again!! What you get for partying all night long and then passing out on the beach for a few hours come morning... hah

Senor Frogs is a MUST....its my favorite....and I think its only 40 to get in
