Day 1...few things.....

Anyone feel free to answer, but this is more directed to my Oasis people so, depending on what time we check in and everything can head on over....we'll be arriving at approx 12:45...so from then to the hotel, probably another hour and a half depending on how busy everything is....check in is at 4...so time to kill there, maybe get some quick essentials at the Oxxo or Walmart....shower and change, hopefully we have time to make it to Oasis for a little bit?

If not....Frogs the first night is definite....Andrew, Henry, Steve anyone else....you guys down? Or do you have something else on the itinerary?

i was also thinking of going to oasis, but i dont really think its worth it... so ill prolly just chill downtown, go to walmart, visit my friends and then off to Frogs...

Yes. I'm going to go to Oasis for a little while after I check in then I'll meet you somewhere downtown maybe around 6PM? Dinner and shopping and be back around 8 or 9PM then go to Frogs with them.

You don't have to come pick me up. It's so far for you, it's going to take you like 2 hours. I'll just jump into a cab and meet you wherever you think is easy to meet up downtown. I can even pick you up at the apartment if you think I will be able to tell the driver where it is. I may bring Andrew too, not sure yet.

URGENT!

so is it just as simple as getting on the bus and waiting until it approaches the wal-mart, or are there only certain buses that will go by that part of cancun?

i need to know before i get on the bus!!

went to walrmart twice last year to re-stock on vodka as it was cheaper! i'm not sure the exact bus but on the windscreen it has wal-mart plastered on the front just say to the driver to give you a shout when near wal-mart think u may have to walk along 1 street! then u catch the bus right outside wal-mart to go back

I don't think all buses go to walmart. I got lost my first time and it sucked because a lot of people outside of hotel zone don't speak English.

OK a few things, sorry I didn't get into this thread last night.

1. OASIS DAY - If everyone tries to come to the Oasis that would be good. Andrew, my friend Seth, and myself should be there by 2ish. I plan to get rid of my bags, get my bracelet, and get the festivities started. I'm sure we will be on the regular Oasis side of the compound, so finding us shouldn't be too hard. My friend Seth is like 6'5", look for the tall dudes. I want to get some beach/drinks time in.

2.WALMART - I have not done this before, but this is a great idea. I spend so much money on getting 1L bottles of water a couple times a day. I am crazy about making sure I stay hydrated all week, it's one of the reasons why I am able to drink like I do and not die halfway through the week. Buying gallon jugs of water at Walmart on the cheap, maybe some red bulls, other various supplies, and then get them back to Oasis would save big money over the course of the week. I did this in Acapulco because the Walmart was walking distance. I am pro-Walmart if we can make a trip. We need to figure out if it will be before or after dinner, before is fine since we will probably end up eating when we get to the ho-asis at 2.

3. SENOR FROGS - I like Frogs a lot, I have no problem going there. As I've mentioned before, a big part of the fun with going to the big clubs is having a big group of people, getting tables/bottles, etc. We might as well save that hoopla for the rest of the week after more of our compadres show up. Either way Frogs is a blast.

4. GENERAL COMMENTS - I can't say I've felt the need for a vacation as much as I do right now. I'm really looking forward to getting away from CT for a while and having a great time with you guys! Pause. 3 days, 2 hours, 1 minute until my plane lands!!!!!!

Bus routes R2 and R15 go to Walmart from the Hotel Zone. 99% of the time the driver calls out Walmart, but to be sure, tell him that is where you want to go when you get on. When you get off, you will be on Coba....cross the street and Walmart is on the parallel streel Xcaret. When you go back to the HZ the buses pick up on Xcaret. There is a stop either to the left or right...take the same bus number back.
