Sure, lets make the 11th a half-official get-together. Just to party hard, exchange numbers and what ever ;-)


I can speak for me :-) My flight is scheduled for 17:30 to land in CUN, so i def gonna make it to the Corona Bar at 21:00.

Better move your ass over there, first 5 beers are on my bill :-)

I am planning to get in on the 9th so I will be there already You said exchange numbers....do USA phones/numbers work in Mexico? I am planning to buy a phone when I get to the USA dont want to have to buy another when I get to Mexico....
Another strange question which comes to mind is how does the signal go with so many people there? Does it hold up?

Hey Mate,

The GSM network in Mexico uses GSM 1900 or 3G 850.

So you do good with a phone that supports these frequencys.

Most networks in the States also use these freqs..... So you should be able to uses the phone you bought in the States..

The best Tactic to avoid REAL expensive roaming costs is :

1. Buy a cheap phone/sim package from Telcel. (around 300 Pesos)
Advantages: cheap phone / cheap phone calls in mex to buddys.
2. Buy a sim only and use your existing phone.
( But beware! Fancy things seem to get lost/wrecked/pool dumped at Spring Break)

First option will be mine, because i dont want to loose or wreck my HTC Desire.

And yes, you have a good coverage in Cancun and a stable network, even through peek week.
So if you plan to buy a phone in the States that should work in Mex and Australia, you def need a so called "Quad-Band" Phone.

Every Phone that support GSM 1900 will work there. You got to check the technical details of the phone.

Nico I'm not sure where I'm staying yet I have couple hotels in mind so let's see I booked my flight already so now is the hotel searching part...

To be in contact ill be taking my Blackberry so if any of ya have BBM just post ya pin up...I think is the easier way to be in touch in cancun and also in touch forever ill say lol I already have norma and we talk from time to time.....

just found a super cheap deal to stay room only which is ok as ill just be buying day passes for oasis(belive) anyway

Hey everyone,
Got a deal through my travel agent for grand oasis, March 9th - 12th (4 nights) for $710aud all inclusive (might do 1 more night to the 13th) then I am going to go to the Omni next door until the 19th. Is that a good deal?

mate, if its with a flight thats a hot deal.... otherwise its 150 bucks per night......

on the other side.... you got a wristband ;-) that opens the doors for the rest of the trip....

Temptation is adults only ;-) just browse the temptation forum and you know whats going on, its near to the party center, but if you want to be next to the oasis, book fiesta :-)

Both great hotels :-)

No, didnt get a flight, that was accom only. Think I will still book it though!

Get a good deal at the Be Live (Oasis) or a cheap place to stay and get AI day passes at the Oasis. that would be my advice.

Imperial Laguna is near to the Party Center and a 12-15 min bus ride away from the Oasis.

The busses are ultra-cheap


Daypasses should be around 40-45 us $

im back!!!! now that i can use a computer a bit...

daypasses shouldnt be more than 30 usd they were 25 usd for SB 2010 so...


id def stay somewhere else and just get the day passes, thats what ive been doing for the past 3 years lol
