Default Lawsuit Problem @ Oasis is OVER!!

Hi Guys,

since yesterday it seems that the lawsuit problem at the Oasis is over. Oasis said that they are ready to welcome Spring Breakers....

More information below :
Pueyo e Hidalgo llegan a un acuerdo tras la intermediación de los gobernadores

Do you think Student City HQ will move back to Oasis for this year?

Kind of last minute. Student City may not have enough time.

As translated, and as per reports:

The info as reported:

Among the points agreed upon include:

1 .- Globalia will operate until April 30, 2012 the three hotels: the Riviera Maya, Viva and Viva Grand in Cancun, with a total of 750 rooms, under the brands "Be Live".

2 .- Oasis will operate the rest of the Mexican Caribbean hotels immediately, under the brands "Sens", "Oasis" and "Grand Oasis", with a total of seven hotels and 3,150 rooms.

3 .- The agreement puts an end to the various national and international litigation.

If the reports hold and I haven't seen legal confirmation yet; it's a return of the Oasis Flag to Cancun.

If the agreement(s) of settlement hold between the parties, the Oasis Cancun is once again the Oasis Cancun et al, for the hotels mentioned. Personally, thought the "BeLive" Flag was incredibly absurd, like what was the alternative, "BeDead", but that's JMHO.

As to booking information, as previously stated, legal confirmation hasn't yet been available, I'd opine that as soon as the courts are notified that the case has been settled, the injunction will be removed when the case is formally closed at the legal level.

So what does this mean if we booked on the belive website? Is our reservation still valid?

Anybody know the answer to this riddle.

Nuno, did you have a feedback from Studentcity? They might do the Co HQ thing coming back.

In fact Studentcity moved his HQ to Krystal because of the judge injunction from last week. But now, they can operate the Oasis as "normal" hotel + on a business side "room rates" are a way cheaper at the Oasis than Krystal.

So for the same money you give to Student city, they earn more if their clients are staying at the Oasis than the Krystal.

They wont be moving it. They had all their big wigs in cancun last week and the week before finalizing everything such as stage locations and logistics.

Its too late and they already moved everyone from the oasis to the krystal.

Next year im sure everything will be back to normal this year they had to scrambled to find a hotel willing to take the rowdiness and krystal decided that it needed the money and they used their extremely good relationship to make it happen.

Yes room rates are cheaper but you know that every hotel studentcity offers they have to have a ratio'd staff and in this case wouldnt be worthwhile to staff employees at a dead hotel you know.

Is it pronounced "Believe", or "Be Live?" Either way is retarded.

Well, put the wigs around the pool + build a stage they can do this in one day (Last year the stage wasn't that huge comparing to the stages they used 4, 5 years ago)

Maybe Oasis will do their own contest + music and stuff as the hotel management hands is changing.

All I know is I feel sorry for the staff at the "Oasis". There occupany during the year is shit, and this is their time to make some dinero. Especially the Entertainment Team, which at most hotels work their asses off for the commissions to the night clubs. I hope they recover from this.

Nothing is 100% and we wont find out until everything settles.

People who were staying at the oasis right now had to go to another resort that be live owns from what i read on tripadvisor.

I've just called my tour operator here in the UK and they have said that our rooms at the Grand Oasis are still confirmed.

However, with the lawsuit only being finalised in the last day or two, may be the news hasn't filter through to them. I was told that any changes in ownership will result in the them being told by the hotel and then sending out correspondence to all their customers.

Just don't want to be stranded.........might have to sing for a bed at night!!!
