Default First time in Cancun, questions.
I found this great site and have been absorbing as much info as I can. I'm going to be out there from the 11-16th this month with 2 buddies, we are staying at ME by melia all inclusive (how is this hotel?) I'm well aware that your tips get you the best service. This will be my first time out there and have a few questions on what to expect. I'm a bit older (31) but love the night life, any recomendations for these dates as far as bars/clubs/preforming artists go? We are also looking to do bottle service one or 2 nights if anyone could throw some prices out at me it would be great. Any cigar shops that you could reccomend me, I'm not looking for habanos (past that phase) I'm after locally rolled cigars as I have heard that they are pretty good. Are the dates that we are going on decent for spring break? What do people do for fun during the day? I'm very pumped up about this trip as the last time I went anywhere on spring break was 9 years ago. I speak fluent spainsh (probably won't be needed down there) but do know to avoid the outskirts of town at night and plan on paying for everything in pesos. Is it true that cancun is getting less spring breakers this season because of the government scare of cartel violence? Any tips or ideas are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

JESUS H. CHRIST couldnt have told it any with any more truth. I'm feeling like shit this morning, only drank a 12 pack of bud light...

Yup that's why I generally stay away from booze during the work week. Can't hit the ground running like I did in my early 20's anymore.

Guys i'm 40 n do Cancun every year n i love it. Now i don't go during springbreak n go to Temptation which is an older crowd, but still do quite a bit of clubbing while im there. I'm also the lucky bastard who rarely gets hangovers lol. But main point is, YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO PARTY IN DA COON!

@777, ME is a very nice place to be staying and you wont be dissapointed there! There are a handfull of cigar shops with locals rolling cigars, one of them I know of is in the Kulkulcan plaza little shopping mall they have there. I am sure there is one at the la isla shopping center too! Bottle service prices vary, last year we were getting goose for a very good price but I would plan on $60-$100 a round, just depends on the scenario! Hope this helps and have fun!

i'm feeling really really old now..... 45 and still loves to party all night..... can drink with the best of them and i don't get hangovers..... ok alittle hangover but i'm trying to loose some weight so that will be gone.....lol

Geesh Im 34...Ill be sure to pack my oxygen tank and chess set. lol....Good lord I party harder now then I did at 25 and look better for that matter. Really Glad everyone but jack wagon was nice to this guy looking for info...that was so rude and stupid I couldnt believe it. Asking about bottle service and cigars didnt deserve that.

LOLL I actually asked a couple guys in their early 30s to tag along on this trip with me and they told me they were too old, fkn hilarious...I would party in Cancun even at 80, fuck that live once, party hard, have fun, giddy up

As my man Charlie Sheen said, park your judgment at the door and enjoy every moment. There were people telling me I was "too old" for Cancun when I went at age 23. I'm 26 now. Frankly, the problem is with them, I enjoy my life in a responsible manner, and that's all that matters. Some people think once they get out of school, start working, their job is to find a suitable wife, have kids, and slowly die. I have no problem with everything except for the slow death part. What upsets these type of people is the perception that they are not allowed to have fun anymore so, therefore, nobody else should either. To each their own but no reason to allow negative energy from folks with daddy/mommy issues to bring you down!
