SB rookie from Aus - couple of questions

Hey people,

me and a mate wanna head out to cancun check out spring break 2012. we're coming in from australia and pretty clueless about it all so just starting to do some research now. I have a few questions and would appreciate any responses or extra info at all really.

Right now we're just trying to figure out when the best time for spring break in terms of crowds & partying (we're 25 by the way). Im seeing all different dates, some people saying end of feb, some say end of march.. does the break last over a whole month?? if so, when's the best time to hit it up - we're probably looking at maybe a week in cancun (maybe some time in Playa Del Carmen after).

We're looking at heading through USA first coz we have to fly into LAX and go from there, in terms of flights from USA (probs LAX) to Cancun around the time of SB, when's the latest we should be booking by. Not sure if we need to be concerned about the price going up by heaps or there just being a total lack of flights if we leave it too long??

Once we sort out fights to USA and then what dates are best to hit cancun then ill probably start looking into best places to stay etc.

hey, cant help you on your flight questions but peak week is usually the 2nd-3rd week of march and is when most US schools are out. However spring break starts around 18th of feb and goes to late march because not all colleges get out at the same dates.

wouldn't it be quicker if u guys flew to dallas, tx and then to cancun??? btw, best week is 2nd and 3rd week of march

Thanks for that, aiming at around 12th march 2012 looks like.

We're coming through LA to catch a couple of mates then go down from there - also cheaper to get from aus to LAX then to DAL. When do flights get ridiculously expensive from LA (or Dallas) to Cancun?
