Once again another SB rookie

Hey guys I'm planning on going down to Cancun for SB this year, I was told to stay at Me by Melia but I havent been able to find anything about how it is during Spring Break I was just wondering is it a good party place?

Welcome young jedi, if you're looking for a true party hotel, look very far away from the ME. Although it's one of the nicer establishments if you're looking for a 24/7 party, the Oasis is where you need to be.

Disclaimer on Oasis: The place is dirty, the food sucks, there's millions of problems you'll encounter with the room, staff etc, but it's where ALL the action is during the day.

If you don't mind paying a day fee, stay somewhere nicer, and take the trip down there a few days a week and party it up on the beach

I'd take the advice from Darth Fletch in terms of using a day pass. As you can always go to the party then but can you get away from it if your hungover to hell. It depends how long your staying for. I stayed for 2 week last time and went out every night but one. I don't want to start UK drinking campaign as there's enough of all that on the other threads but we drank alot each night 6pm - 6am most occasions. So without our hotel having nice food and the chance to just relax or snooze at the pool .. the rest wouldn't have been possible.

No harm in playing smart and getting your body in condition to party hard again. <- lame sentence but its true.

Day passes this year were like 50$ usd.... Sucks stay away from oasis! Like fletch said....

k thanks everyone I think thats what I'll do stay at the ME and get day passes to oasis I cant believe how stoked I am for this and its still 6 months away...

I've been once and i have booked for March next year. On both occasions I've had just over a year to wait!

Dont think it does the heart any good being excited 11 month and 2 weeks out of the year then in ecstasy for the 2 week actually there!

As a frequent Oasis Guest, i would usually recommend staying at the Oasis for the best party. BUT on the downside as others said:

- Food is crap (has gotten a bit better last year)
- Rooms are shit
- Staff is a hassle

And from what i´ve seen so far the price have gone up AGAIN for 2012.

I am out for this one. To much hotel trouble / rip-off last year.
Better find a nice and decent hotel/appartment and hop on the bus.

Oasis wasn't too bad for me beside the food lol.... I tip the front desk lady 20$usd she gave us a decent room can't complain about that had a nice view to the beach etc.....

I stayed at the ME in March/April.. I loved it.. im hooked on it! The hotel is beautiful inside & the food is delicious!

Last year, Oasis was a bust. Krystal Cancun will be the spot hands down. Breakaway tour has made this their spring break Headquarters. From February 17th-27th, Krystal will be off the chain. I went to Oasis my first time down there and it was so amazing. However, when returning there in February 2012, the place was absolutely dead. Krystal will be popping off with a massive stage on the beach and tons of lovely young ladies. Don't miss out
