You always go for the big sell up front, meet rejection with a counteroffer, and settle just below your original offer.

In this case, you must ask Jessie for marriage and 3 kids. She will be scared of such a thing, but will counter with 'let's go have drinks'. You will come back with 'Great idea! Drinks in Vegas!'. And you will have 3 nights of married bliss.

She'll get the dog, you'll go back to Illinois.
