golden or temptation?

Can someone please tell us the main differences between the Golden and Temptations resort? We are looking at a trip this summer, but haven't decided where to go. We got some good reviews on temptation. How much different is the Golden?

Temptations = ADULT party atmosphere

Golden = Laid back ............... no kids

I agree, we were at golden in April 2007, very laid back and relaxing, no kids which is great, its a topless resort but when were there I think I only saw 2 topless the whole week. We've not been to temptation yet but that is our next destination!

How is the entertainment/parties at golden? If you stay at the resort at night is there anything going on or are you expected to go into town??

Evenings are pretty lame. The entertainment in the evenings is as well. You either go to the clubs down the road a few miles, or you go out to the tiki bar after 11pm and see what happens. Sometimes its a wild night, others its pretty quiet.

Oh, and by the way this thread sounds - and pretty much all of CC, Is TTR the only place that is "adult only" that has anything going on at nite??? I know more people are more active on the TTR threads, but is everywhere else that lame? Or is it that nobody that goes somewhere else uses this forum? I know we will go out to some bars, but it would be nice to have everything at the resorts too... if we didnt want to go out. Thanks for any help.

The Golden can be hit and miss. One night the Tiki Bar would be nuts with girls flashing/body shots... then the next night nothing but a few old people. Really depends on the crowd I think. It does seem like it only takes one person to start the fun then everyone joins in.

I agree with both above, hit and miss, a couple nights it was a big party and a couple nights pretty dead.

That's what happened the last time we were there...one night it was kinda quiet around the Tiki Bar until two gals started dancing on the bar then one of the ladies, at the urging of her husband, "assumed the position" for topless body shots and before we knew it, several other wives were lining up for their turns on the bar...that was an eye opening night, to say the least!

We are not going this year.

We have been to the GP in October (2 times) November (1 time) December (2 times) April (1 time) May (1 time)


Our favorite was May and November. The sun goes down so early in december, but thats life. October has been fun, but we did deal with Wilma back in 2005, but thats the chance you take during hurricane season. April was good as well.
August will be blazing hot, not that is isn't all the time really.

We are hitting Playa in October for a week.

BIGR,

We have never been to GP but this will be our 5th trip to temptation and we just love it. I guess its all in what you are looking for on vacation, party, or rest. You may go to GP and have the best vacation ever or you may not but I promise you if you go too temptation it will be your best vacation.Also we will be there 22nd thru 27th of Aug.

After looking at your pictures and this post I might starting considering going. We've been to Temptations 4 times we usually go in the winter months. It looks like a good time.
Is it really crowded? We are a pretty laid back couple with high stress jobs we are looking for relaxation when we go.

We never felt it was overly crowded...never had a problem getting loungers and there were usually enough umbrellas to go around. Of course, the hotel wasn't at 100 percent capacity the week we were there (I think it was somewhere around 3/4 full). We've never been to Temptations, but from what we've seen and read about the place, it seems to be non-stop party, especially around the sexy pool. At the Golden Parnassus, that wasn't the case; it was pretty laid back around the pool most of the time except during tequila volleyball every afternoon.

Thats sounds nice, maybe our speed. We have always enjoyed TTR but have been feeling since we joined CC that maybe it isn't the place for us. I've been getting the vibe it is a bit clicky and narrow minded. We are the kind of people that mind our own business and never mind the next guy. as in Live and let live. Not here to judge others for their lifestyles or behavior, as long as it isn't affecting us. We are thinking about splitting our next trip, 1 week at either resort and 1 week at the Island it is very nice there. But we will see we have a few months before we head back to Mexico... sad to say. And Thank you for the info, it really does sound nice.

Never been to Golden but Oct will be 4th time to temptation,,,just a fun place

I was a regular a golden. Tiki bar is fun at night but it lacks the bight life that temptation has. Really depends on the crowd. Wife had so many obvious pictures taking of her it was insane.
the crowd is laid back and I have met alot of great people there, but between the 2 I'm going back to temptation before I got to golden again.
