|  Help from locals? Hi everyone ! I justed booked my fly to cancun 5 minutes ago, i was born in brasil but i'm living in the us for 13 years, i do speak spanish ! I been in a couple country before and i always like to do it in back pack style, i do not really like to stay on the tourist areas, i love culture and people ( guess? I'm from brasil ) here is my question i did not have hotel yet i'm arriving in cancun 6:45 pm on wednesday, i'm trying to get there and get a felling from the place maybe stay downtown is this a good ideal? does anyone know a good and tip place to stay? Or if any of you have a room to rent for 5 days LET ME KNOW i'm a really simply person thanks! |

| I dont think you will get a better rate than the online price. On the website it says "These are special rates that are only available through this web site and limited to a certain number of rooms." I have booked through their website several times without any problems. |

| Gonzo's recommendation is the best bargain for a hotel downtown. If you want to have more interaction with other backpack types, you may want to try Hostel Chacmool. The big park is right in front of it and it will be a few $$ cheaper than Alux. It just depends on what you are looking for. You will be happy with either.
