| Right now it's just an area of low pressure, not even a tropical depression. Could go that way, but I don't think we'll see much more than a little rain. If it picks up into something more intense, I suspect it will be after it crosses the peninsula. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo/two_atl.gif

| Starting last evening, and continuing for perhaps the next two days, it looks like we may have a little more unstable weather than usual, with more frequent showers than typical for this time of year. Those who are here, now, have been enjoying pretty much typical weather for this time of year, with occasional showers and lots of sunshine, until yesterday (I was at the beach, Sunday afternoon, and it couldn't have been more beautiful). The system that's affecting our weather will probably get stronger after it enters the Gulf of Mexico (on the opposite side of the Yucatan Peninsula from Cancun), and the weather behind it looks to be good (typical, for the season), so far as I can see, for Cancun. I know people's reactions to weather, and changes in the weather, are highly personal and can vary, but I find the weather, here, to be delightful, this time of year. It's hot, and even humid, but the skies are glorious and sunshine plentiful, with this beauty punctuated, just occasionally, by a shower- which lends a real "tropical" feel to the atmosphere.... |

| No power and just got enough of a break in the clouds go get the satellite to connect. Ugh. At least if we have to be powerless we had cool rainy weather. Hoping for power today. I honestly couldn't even run this morning because I would have been running the entire time in a river. |

| The storm, such as it is, seems to have lightened its load by dumping most of its rain down south, where Kathy lives, and is moving rapidly across the peninsula. It may be gone in just a day, rather than two, as I'd thought earlier. We had a light rain here, in Cancun Centro, this AM. There is little if any water in the streets, now, and the sky is getting lighter, though it's still overcast at the moment. |

| I just read this today about 4 pm Cancun time. According to the National Hurricane Center, there is a medium chance (30%) of this disturbance becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds are likely over the Yucatan Peninsula and Belize today and Wednesday. Most models have this disturbance moving into the Texas Coast anywhere from Brownsville to Rockport on Thursday mid-morning as a weak tropical storm. That will likely give South Texas some heavy rain causing floods on our saturated soil.

| Earlier it was raining just hard enough to need an umbrella. I got out of the car and pushed the eject button on my new $5 US Walmart US umbrella and it did not open. Jumped back in the car as I could not park close to the cleaners. Beat the umbrella in the right place with a screwdriver and it opened. By this time it was raining incredibly hard. My tennies are drying now.

| We have had nonstop rain and until late this afternoon HEAVY rain for over 24 hours - I'd say more like 36 but I'm honestly not sure. If rain keeps up tonight it will be 48 by tomorrow. We're building boats. I was able to get a run in this afternoon - it was still raining but there were dry spots on the road that weren't underwater. Those puddles (up to my ankles or deeper) take a lot of out me running. COLD here also - 24C and 88% humidity (well, that's in the palapa where it is dry). We have POWER as of just before dark! That was 36 hours of no power. So the rain was definitely less - as of now, probably more like 30 hours. We're still building boats. |

| Sorry, Kathy, about the weather down south. We got together in the open air this evening and had a great time. It rained, but nothing stopped the party. For Cancun, my prediction remains it will be all gone, by tomorrow! |

| Power stayed on ALL NIGHT though it continued to rain (hard at times) through the night. Been dry all day. YAY! Even celebrated with a run in the noonday sun (now THAT was a mistake! ) |

| I'm happy its raining, its keeping possible protesters in check & most of them away since i live right across the temporary IEQROO District X offices... I will admit the pot holes are getting bigger and soon become unavoidable im trying to focus on the positive side!! lol @Rawkus, any interesting encounters with IEQROO or the increased police presence?

| It's rainy/hurricane season, so it's hard to say. Even the forecasts can't really predict it more than 12 hours in advance, although they try. Lately we've been getting some sunny days, and some overcast days interspersed (sp??) with rain. I'd say the last few weeks have been great vacation weather, despite some rain. Couldn't tell you what will be happening 2 weeks from now, though. |
