| Indeed there are, I have 2 that I rescued. But there are still people out there that want a paticular type of dog. |

| I don't want to jump on pet owners or anyone looking for specific breeds.. but it is sad that so many strays are out there yet people still go and buy new pets so often. I was in a pet store just yesterday, and a little girl was oggling over a cat in the window... a cat that looked just like the countless others I've seen roaming the streets, but without much discussion her mother bought that cat for $2000!!!!... I'm pretty sure it wasn't even a pure breed or anything... Just incredible I thought... but that's the way it is... and of'course they won't get that cat fixed, so as soon as it ventures out it will make more baby cats to roam the streets... and on it goes... sighh,,,, /rant |

| Life: Agreed. I myself, have never bought a pet in my 31 years... This includes 7 snakes back home(all rescues, except one that was a gift), countless dogs, cats and even a tortoise, haha Also, a fairly large group of "us" do a LOT of work with the dogs and cats here. Sad that we are doing the work of the Government and using our own money for this... mparry: Pits rule |

| PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not buy pets from a pet store...do not support the puppy mills...if you dont want to adopt because you want a specific breed/color/sex/age or whatever then do some research and buy from a reputable breeder.....do a site visit and see how the pets are kept/raised....PLEASE do not support puppy mills or people that are breeding only for money and not because they have the passion for a particular breed |

| You are all so right. I find myself disgusted with the lack of knowledge people who "claim" to be pet owners. I was only trying to help a friend who truly loves his dogs and is a remarkable pet owner. It is great to see how passionate you all are about stray animals, honestly. Im sure Pits rule but I have a weakness for Pugs and Chihuhuas |
