Hi Everyone,
My husband and I have started talking about having a baby and even though I know it's suuuper early since I'm not even pregnant yet! .. I was just wondering if there are SAFE alternatives to hospital births in Cancun. Do birthing centers or midwives exist here?
I know that the c-section rate in Cancun is really high and I'd like to avoid a c section at all costs!

Yes there are a group of midwives based in Tulum willing to attend homebirths in Cancun. I have worked with them. PM me for teephone numbers or look at www.congresotulum.org
There is also a Dr based at Clinica Victoria: Dr Jorge Aguilar that will attend home births- I have also attended births with him.
