The guys said it will be rolled out across the entire City eventually. The first areas are south and west of the bullring i.e. SM18 SM15 SM17 etc. There's a lot of infrastructure already in place and it's easier and faster due to the high proportion of individual houses rather than apartments. We're paying 1000 Pesos a month, we've paid that since day one 7 years ago for 1Mb. The price hasn't changed just the speed has got faster.

Do you notice much of a difference? Is it a lot to do with the processor on your computer as well?

1000 pesos for 1mb? I think we are on, keep your trousers on(hehe), a whooping 2mbit, but we "only" pay something like 380 pesos... Thanks for the info Steve - hope they will reach Centro before the next ice age comes around.

When we first arrived the choice was 512Kb for 500 pesos or 1Mb for 1000. We went for the 1Mb which was doubled a few years later to 2Mb and then doubled again to 4Mb about a year ago.

I have noticed that HD Youtube or news videos start up instantly with no buffering and all webpages load instantly. Watching anything streaming like live sports will be much better, and it will improve things like video via skype. Your processor isn't really much to do with it, having a faster connection is all about speed of data transfer rather than any processing of it. Even with a low end processor you'd notice the same difference. | |

Wow. That's the fastest service I've seen anywhere in Mexico.
