| Looks like the strength will be weakening by the time it hits Cancun from a cat 3 to a cat 1 Here's hoping it all just goes away and the sun comes out

| I've got an irrational fondness for the "Canadian model" when it comes to hurricane track predictions and, unlike the others it shows Rina going overland at Chetumal, then heading for Guatemala and not coming this way, at all. www.stormpulse.com I feel sorry for the folks in that part of the world as they've had far too much rain already, this season, but that's still my preference! It's cloudy here now- sure wish I had made it to the beach this AM! |

| For those who might enjoy a mild thrill, here's a radar image of the storm, now (6:45 PM, Wed) just off the coast of Chetumal, the capital city of our state, Quintana Roo. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/avn-l.jpg My taxi drivers have all assured me this storm will be no big deal for Cancun. We'll soon know if they're right. |

| Anyone that was witness to Wilma's fury can attest to this being a "nothing" storm. We can take the rain but 175mph winds were just too damn scary for me. Her name still makes Cancunenses shutter. All reports are saying lot's of rain, no winds and Sunday should be a beach day! Just hope the electric holds up! For me, that's the worst part. 5 days of bailing water and sliding through my house because of all the wet floors, and the sound of a locomotive roaring through my house will be the experiences I'll remember for the rest of my life....this one's cake! |

| Looks like this one's done for, except for some light wind and rain, now. Sure hope they don't reopen the schools, 'til Monday! |

| The schools were closed but did they ever stop selling beer? Big brothers have to keep their priorities straight. I grabbed a couple of six packs on Monday. Unlike prepping for Wilma when we bought every single beer in a little mini super on Av Alamos. Over 100 beers for sure and one of my neighbors bummed a couple and drank them at room temperature. I am not going to name names as he visits this board, right Johndish? Uh oh. Sorry.

Where is this new Chedraui? I can think of nothing new near Santa Fe. Are you talking about the new plaza with the Cinemex theater way north on Kabah? They call that plaza Multiplaza Cancun. I heard that there was a post saying it was on or near Nichupte but I am drawing a total blank. Can you provide the cross streets for the new Chedraui? Thanks

| its called Chedraui Multiplaza Chac Mool , mza 315 , frac. Santa Fe , it is about 5 blocks away from Soriana Nichupte. I have the exact address somewhere I will post it. The Cehdraui family was there at the grand opening, they also opened one in Tulum. they had an "army" of workers , cleaning , asking if you need help , tons of cashiers
