Fees on cash deposits

Our condo administrator recently said he would no longer accept payments made in cash, deposited directly into the condo bank account, because the bank was now charging him 3% of the deposit as a fee!

I'm aware of a 1.5% Federal Tax on cash deposits on anything above a total of 15,000 pesos in a given month, but not of a fee charged by banks, generally, on cash deposits.

Anybody had any experience with running larger amounts of cash through a peso account? Deposits to my account are always by electronic transfer, so I haven't, yet.
