I went to a site inspection this weekend and yes, it is open and working but almost.............. emty.

I think they need more advertisment on the new location

I don't think it helps that it's not a beach bar anymore.

In Cancun that was a huge part of it's popularity.

the new Fat Tuesdays is indeed open.

It is just up the road from where my hotel was located (km 3.5), next to the bridge where the Pirate Ship docks.

I was there at approximately 2pm, not a single patron inside, staff was outside waiting for the large Catamarans to dock so that they could usher in some business.

As a longtime beach restaurant and bar manager, I cannot see how this brand (Fat Tuesdays Cancun) can thrive in its current location. There is no beach, and very limited foot traffic in that area. The restaurant doesn't look big enough to handle the spring break crowds that formerly generated a lot of revenue, and I'm not sure the casual, year-round tourist would find it as appealing as some other restaurants/bars available just a short bus ride away.

Some kind still beach front in the canal where the Pirate Ships departs but <i thinkd the problem is that almost none know they are open in a new location

I dont know....I would still have to question if it is, in fact, the "real" Fat Tuesday. I know they have legal problems and owed outstanding debts to their employees as well as their property. I cant see how they could have gotten a new business license without clearing that up.....

Fat Tuesday is a franchise or lisence so if the old owner have problems, and loyalty fees penidng; that is his problem. {The brand sell again the membership for the location and new owner begin from 0

Exactly correct Ana. So long as the "new" Fat Tuesdays is under someone else's name they would have no problems....so thats entirely possible. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a company has reorganized to get out of trouble and debt...presuming its the same people that were behind the "old" Fat Tuesdays....

It's not the same people for sure, neither the owners or the staff
