Default Ophtalmologist or eye surgeon

I think I remember a long time ago someone (is it you, Life?) posted a message on this board or another, about a wonderful doctor, who took care of his mother. in Florida, perhaps :?:

Could you please contact me, and I will get in touch with you.

Thanks a lot

jen there is a Doctora Rosario Sanchez Perez, she works at the Hospital Galenia, on Tulum past the Home Depot heading toward the airport. I personally don't know her, but she trained at John's Hopkins University. That does not necessarily mean anything, but you may want to check her out, The other is Dr. Rodolfo Anzures Medina, I will send the numbers and addresses.

Doctora- 802-1004/05
Doctor-884-4041 802-1172 891-5200 ext. 203

I believe they both have offices here at the Galenia Hospital. Like I said I do not know either, not personally or professionaly but they may be able to help you. Since eyes are delicate you need a specialist for sure...
Hope this helps.

I had cataract surgery on one eye last year and plan on having the other one done later this year. The wonderful opthomologist and surgeon has a clinic on Bonampak just before you get to the Uxmal glorieta. I think it is called the Perfect Vision. I highly recommend him. Great staff, professional, high tec, impeccable and about 25% of what I would have paid for the same thing in the States.

Thanks, Jim (s), for your posts. I can consult there and get other advices, but my problem is much much more serious.

I don't want to enter technical details here, but it is the beginning of total blindness, and some (I went to many French and American sites, besides doctors) say it is NOT curable. They don't seem to know well, but the French are not very good at ophtalmology, they say it can happen any time between 2 and 20 years (I hope 40!!!!)

If it is expensive, my sight has no price! so never mind. I have heard that Cubans are good, but I have no serious info about it.

I dare not say "see you"

I only mnetioned price as a point of comparison. I agree that when it comes to sight, money is no object and I would never have gone to Dr. Alcocer Lamm from Venezuela just because he was cheap!

I have heard good things about Cuban medicine too but am not convinced that it is not propaganda. I had a friend who went there for a consultation and his problem turned out to not even be his eyes but a brain tumour.
