You must adjust your PM options in your profile in order to send/receive PM's. Also, many messages you had sent/received over the years that you thought had dropped off the map are "back" again. You must cull them down to a total of no more than 19 or 20 in order to be able to send or receive PM's. Pain the butt, but there actually WERE a few old PMs I was glad to have back in my mailbox, lol!

Originally this was indeed the case. I should have set the default option to 'can receive private messages' before the import. I didnt realise though until afterwards.

However, yesterday, I ran a database query that should have changed everyones deafult option so they can receive messages.

There was also an option for 'can not receive messages' when box is full which is probably why you cant receive them. I have just switched this to 'can receive messages when box is full'. So everyone should be able to receive PM's regardless of how many they currently have.

But I would urge everyone to clean out their mail boxes - there were actually 24,000 PM's transferred over!

Go into your private message area and right at the top there is an option to 'empty'. Do this for all three boxes you have if you want to clear everything.

If you want to keep some then use the checkboxes to the right of each message and use the drop down action at the bottom to delete those you dont want.

I know what you mean... spent some time reading a few dated back in 2005 and 2006... I think there's enough material for one of my top10s, but since it was all PMs, I doubt anyone would get it
