Playa Del Carmen Nightlife

I know that the only way to describe Cancun's party scene is out of control. However, how would you say Playa Del Carmen's is?

It's a little more laid back overall. Lot's of smaller bars with a more friendly, personal feel. But there are a few bigger dance clubs that feed the needs of the younger crowd.

I'd say it's much like Cancun (Hotel Zone) nightlife 20 years ago, just more concentrated into walking distance. Which makes Playa a great place for bar hopping!

agreed....much more in the way of smaller bars. CocoBongo is now in Playa, and it has the same feel as Cancun's. We enjoy going there just as much as the one in Cancun.

The party scene is getting "better", but its different. We enjoy it, but we are not 20 somethings looking for full blown dance clubs either!

I enjoy the vibe of Playa. There is a good variety of clubs, from Coco Bongo to very relaxed beach bars. The Blue Parrot is a fun club with good music and a dance floor outside on the beach.
