OOOOOO this is a interesting question. I (les) would have to go for:

1) Heaven & Hell ----Black Sabbath
2) Meteora ------- Linkin Park
3) Black Album ------ Metallica
4) Life ------ Thin Lizzy
5) Live in the heart of the cty ------- Whitesnake

If I could only listen to one song over and over it would have to be Into The Light by In This Moment Or Forgiven by Within Temptation because they remind me of my Dad & Tammy.

Man after my own heart with Dio-era Sabbath

1. GNR - Appetite...
2. Heaven And Hell
3. Facelift - Alice In Chains
4. Black Mollys - Overnight Disgrace
5. Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen

My musical taste is so broad, it took a bit to come up with this.

I (Terri) would take:

1) Foo Fighters: The Colour and the Shape
2) AC/DC: Back in Black
3) GNR: Appetite for Destruction
4) Jimmy Buffet: Tues. Thurs. & Sat.
5) Kid Rock: Rock N Roll Jesus
5 1/2) Run DMC: Raising Hell

Eclectic bunch...I know. Trent would take all Jimmy Buffet!!

[QUOTE=choffman2k;312759]Man after my own heart with Dio-era Sabbath QUOTE]

I'd pick Dio over Ozzy any day. To be honest, Tony Martin, Glen Hughes and Ian Gillan were all better Sabbath singers than Ozzy. He was just in the right place at the right time I suppose. Eternal Idol and Seventh Start are just pure class. I've seen Sabbath about 10 times, went to see Heaven & Hell (sabbath with Dio) last year and they were outstanding.

You're the only damn person I've ever heard say they liked Seventh Star. I picked that up when I was about 13 and thought it was great. I understand where people debate whether or not the Sabbath name should be used though.

It was supposed to be Tony's solo album, but the company made him use the Sabbath name.

Yep your spot on, I've read a few books on Sabbath and they all say it was a solo album but it was changed by the record company. Tony Iommi was that miffed he refused to tour the album at first.
Have you ever listened to Tony Iommi's three solo albums? The first has guest singers but the other two have Glen Hughes singing and they are pure class. I've started listening to Born Again with Ian Gillan singing and to be honest it's a very good listen.

That would be nearly impossible to pick my top 5, but these would work well........off the top of my head, and missing many probably.

Foreigner........Foreigner
Steve Miller Band......Fly like an Eagle
KISS...... Alive
Styx........Grand Illusion
AC/DC.......Back in Black

1) Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell

2) Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975

3) Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

4) Boston - Boston

5) Kenny Chesney - A Mix of his Hits

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, & Aerosmith should be in here somewhere but........

Default Top 5

Ken just has to disagree with US2933 when saying that Ozzy was just there at the right place at the right time. Nobody can sing 'YEAH!' like the Ozzman. For proof, listen to 'Thrill of it All' off of the Sabbotage album.

Top five would be almost impossible to choose as it changes daily for me but, for today:
1) Black Sabbath - Sabbotage
2) RUSH - Moving Pictures
3) Catherine Wheel - Chrome
4) Spock's Beard - Snow
5) Dream Theatre - Scenes from a Memory

THAT WAS HARD!!!

Damn this is a tough one. My tastes are so varied also, but I'll take a stab at it.

Queen - Night at the Opera (Sheer Heart Attack close second)
Bruce Springsteeen - Born to Run (love Jungleland!)
Eagles - Hell Freezes Over (acoustic version of Hotel California is hard to beat)
Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonley Hearts Club Band
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Blood Sex Magic

And I'd definitely have to smuggle in Music from the Motion Picture "Pulp Fiction"

Ken I'm talking live not on record. Ozzy is rubbish live and always has been. He's a showman not a singer. The Ozzt era Sabbath albums are pure class and started a heavy metal revolution. Your choice of Sabbotage is brave lol, many feel that's the worst Ozzy/Sabbath album but I'd have to agree with you as I love it.
Great to see Rush on your list, can't believe how awesome a three man band can be live. I've seen them a few times and they just get better and better.
There seems to be quite a few rockers on here lol

Iommi's solo work is really great...almost like he can really branch out a bit while not under the constraints of the Sabbath name. Hughes is one of the best voices in the business. Have you seen the latest Whitesnake DVD? They do Burn, and I swear Hughes' background vocals from the record are piped in. I could be wrong though...

okay i undertand now that they have to be albums - i only get 5? for the rest of my life?

got to have lots of variety as my mood changes - cant stick with just one type forever - would get old!!!!!

maximize variety

cocunut telegaph by jimmy buffet - its kinda country, kinda pop, - would work perfectly at times

dirt by alice in chains - if for no other reason - can you say "would"?

mirror ball by sarah mlachlin - would never have made it through the years 1999 - 2002 without this album - even tough i hae not listened to it in years - if were gong to be stuck there is nothing i would want more than this for those reflective evenings

purple rain by prince - speaks for itself

infinity by journey - if i had to pull just one rock album from my favorite decade - this is the choice

dont ever make me have to make these choices !!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol

Love the fact that there's so much 'classic rock', right in my wheelhouse! I can't believe that with all the Canadian members that one of my favs is not there. One of the best 3 guitars and a drummer bands. Bachman Turner Overdrive!!!!! Skynrd needs to there also.

I can only pick 5 albums - this is difficult

October Rust
All Hope is Gone
Theatre of Pain
Guide to Extinction
American Apathy

It would be more interesting to just pick 5 songs you would want to be your anthem on vacation at the TTR.

HMMM that would be 1 track from my 1st, 1 from my 4th and 3 from the last
My Girlfriend's Girlfriend
Cocaine Sex
Lets Fuck
Sex Machine
Bitch

if you know my type of music you just smiled, if you don't you just wouldn't understand ~ sorry

Jim

Anyone else
