Default Something to know

Did you you know that not everyone from the Uk is from England? Unlike America where the states we come from doesn't matter, many in the UK are proud of where they come from. Anyone from Wales will quickly correct you if you say they are from England. Northern and Southern Ireland is something like a big deal. Take the time to learn where they are from so when you introduce them new friends you don't offend them. I know exactly what part my friends are from, lol.

ha ha ha excellent post there Mike - we are not from England, so no we are not English...we are Welsh. We may be a small part of the UK but very proud of where we are from. The Irish, Scottish and the English will all say the same.

Can you imagine calling an American a Canadian or vice versa ..... lol same "rules" apply to us lmao xxx

Think your missing the point of the post dave and ellie. We too have counties and cities as do most, and we do mind if people say we're from a different part of Wales than we actually are, but we do get offended if we're called English the same as a lot of Americans get offended if they are called Canadians.

We know which of our friends at TTR are from America and which are from Canada but god knows where in those two countries they live. We know a few live in Dallas as we are going to visit them in October and a few live in New York and Cape Cod etc.

I thought most Americans were happy to be called Canadians? Lol... I've met quite a few Americans who try to pass themselves off as Canadian when they're traveling.

It's the Canadians that wouldnt like to be called American...

Wait a minute, as a proud American I will not be called Canadian. I am not going to say anything negative as I do have Canadian friends I respect. I may not always be proud of what our gov't does but I am proud to stand up for my fellow Americans and what we believe in. Many have died to give us what we have and anyone that doesn't appreciate that or wants to deny they are American, pack up and get out we don't need you here anyways. God bless the USA!

I don`t think that is the same thing at all. British is British as Canadian is Canadian....we have provinces in Canada too just like the US has states.

Calling an American Canadian or vice versa is like calling a British person Scottish they are entirely different countries.

I am Canadian and always travel with a big Canadian Flag on the back of my back pack so people know. I never get trouble anywhere in the world.

We're from Ireland (Dublin) and we are not in the UK and we are certainly not English!

Northern Ireland is however part of the UK though...
