| We need a BBG break. Tax season has just started and we got around 30 inches of snow in the last day and a half. Currently 5 degrees F here and wind chills of -20. Where, oh where is my Drunken Monkey???

| I am in total agreement!!! So cold schools are cancelled, all the kids and about 5 extra ones getting on my nerves today. Have shoulder surgery tomorrow and really am thinking it would be better to just book a flight and get the heck out of dodge.....Javier bring me some rainbow shots!!!!!

| Another snow day for us too. My wife is having a fit finding someone to stay with the kids so she can go to work. Still cold and snowing. The 10 day forecast has this going all the way to the end of next week. I can't imagine what it is like in places like Moose Jaw and Red Deer. And, yes, I have been to Moose Jaw and Red Deer.

| After having relatively mild winters the past 4-5 years or so, we're paying the price now. They are closing the schools, warning folks to stay home unless it's absolutely necessary to go out. Several folks have already died from the exposure. They are rounding up the homeless and taking them to warming centers and banging on the doors of seniors to see if they have heat in their homes. One lady had a thermometor on the table that read 32 degrees INSIDE her house! Michelle |

| I know that you guys aren't acustomed to the colder weather, buildings are not prepared but, it's not that bad.(the weather) Only -20 C. Nothing ever closes here, we've seen -50C and we just have to suck it up and go on with life. Schools have never closed, work just never stops. It's a canadian thing I guess and when we see it somewhere else it's just normal life for us. Be happy that you don't deal with this for 6 months of every year. Good luck guys. Think warm it helps. 32 degrees is only 0 Celcius. |

| With us here it is the blowing snow. We don't get it as cold as you do on the edge of the Rockies, but when the wind whips across Lake Erie and picks up the snow and then the white outs start. For hardiness, I have to admire the Alaskans. When I lived in Fairbanks the kids still played outside at recess until it went below 20 below zero Farenheit. Now that's hardy.

| I hate the dry skin thing. Was working outside when the blizzard hit here in '93 that was no fun with the white out and lightning striking everywhere. That is why I don't work outside anymore. Marie was stuck at home w/our kids and her sisters three kids. You could imagine what kind of mood she was in when I was able to get home 3 days later :whip:

| Still colder than a well diggers pitoopie and still snowing. In some spots it is over 4 feet and windy. Saw a cop standing on a corner directing traffic. Asked him how he was doing. He said okay, but the horse he was on wasn't doing so well. Old Buffalo joke, sorry. See, I really do need that BBG Break!!!

| Yep, patoopie is Yankee slang for arse. It's just our separate language here. Kind of similar to the expression I hear in the Carolinas...whenever I ask where something is, I'm told it's "dun yunder." Haven't figured out where that is yet, but I'm working on it.

| Years ago, while traveling with my parents, we stopped at a gas station north of Charlotte and the attendant said "Yall want your all changed?" Took us a while to translate it. Before you think I'm an uppity Yankee, there are three counties in NY State that are part of Appalaicha. I went to high school in one of those counties. It was an area where a family of seven shared three teeth. Nice folks though.

| You know you're a redneck when you think people with grass in the lawns are uppity. As the redneck said to his lawyer after the divorce, "Is she still my sister?' Sorry, can't resist.

| Two Pollocks go hunting and one kills a deer , so they're dragging the deer out of the woods and the antlers keep snagging on everything. One pollock tells the other i'll bet if we drag it by the antlers we won't have this problem anymore ,the other pollock agrees . After dragging it by the antlers for about 30 mins. the one pollock says to the other i told you we wouldn't have that problem anymore and the other one says yea this is a lot easier, but we sure are getting a long ways from the truck

| Love it!!! Hey we have the stigma of living in an area where we are half redneck and still being from New Yawk, as the downstaters call it. Add to that we have to pay for the City. I don't say New York when someone asks me where I'm from. I just say Buffalo and put up with the snow jokes. We're just a well kept secret with lousy politicians.
