Default Travel from Temptations to Cozumel??

Can anyone tell me if they have traveled from Cancun to Cozumel? I would guess you would catch a ferry from Playa del carmen to Cozumel. If so would anyone suggest the best way to go about this? Thanks

Couple of options depending on what you are doing....

If you are heading out with a couple of friends for the day.. might want to rent a van like we did one year, ride from TTR to the ferry docks, catch the ferry. On the way back, instead of going directly from the ferry docks back to TTR, we did a side trip to Tulum for an hour or so to walk around the ruins before they closed. By going so late in the day we literately had the place to ourselves. Then we van'd it back to the hotel for dinner.

If you are going by yourselves, then you can head to the bus station in downtown Cancun and catch a bus there and back for next to nothing. Might want to stop by the concierge at the hotel for specific instructions and make a pass by the bus station before the day you go just to have the lay of the land on the morning you head out. We've done this too and actually had someone take us to the station and show us the window we wanted the day before.

Just two of what may be several options you have.

More like fun. It's good to get out of the tourist zone every once in a while.

Honestly the people are friendly and many will go out of their way to help you. Then, as with any country in the world, there are those that are just trying to get through their lives and honestly don't have time to help a lost tourist. And then there are those that would rather tourist stay home.

One question to ponder is which type will you be next time you encounter a tourist in your country.

But as a tourist, it's good to step outside the bubble and see what a country is really like.

We did a trip from Playa over 10 years ago - Cozumel was great but I would NEVER do it again unless I could fly!!!

The sea looked calm but the ferry was a huge catamaran with airplane seats - I have never felt as ill in my life.

First place I went when we arrived was the pharmacy and despite having travel sickness pills for the return trip I was almost as ill, and the others were a strange shade of green!

Make sure you stock up on sea sickness pills!
