Members List Profile Picture, my thoughts

Was cruisin through the Members list looking at Profile pics while
sipping on my morning coffee. Some fun pics, some 'adventurous' pics,
a lot of just great 'I'm on vacation pics'.. lots of attractive fun people..
A lot of members choose to not post a pic and I respect their privacy.
My wife is still on the fence about having our pic posted. I like it cause when
we do get our trip booked, I'll recognize who to look for to help steer us in
the right direction AND who to steer clear from! (<< mostly kidding,
kinda, well somewhat,, )

Hi guys and welcome to the board. I can understand your wife's concerns however what many of us have found is its still tough to find people while there with just these Profile pictures. another thing we found is when an idot/creep finds this site it doesn't seem to take to long for people to show them out. They get banned or people just don't chat with them.. and soon enough Steve blocks them or kicks them off the site.
I think you will find lots of great people here, find the thread of when your thinking about going, jump in on some of the conversations or threads and you will get to know some of the greatest people. We usually go in the winter months but after meeting a few people on here we just had to go and meet some of the April Addicts. It was the best time great people and we are planning on going again in april.

Thx for the response and advice Jeff & Deb. Finding lots of answers to any questions
we may have, already posted & answered. Would feel strange to jump in on some
threads as we have not visited a Temptation resort yet. We have one family trip
and two 'just the lovely wife and I' trips penciled in for 2012. Wife ordered a new swimsuit today and I need some sun, sand, & beach soon!

Hey KS Cpl welcome to the Forum. We are in Sydney and are already planning our 3rd visit in 2 years. It was made a lot easier, more relaxing and much more fun, by having met great people here in the Forum. Jeff and deb are spot on. It doesnt take long to recognise the "Poodle Fakers" LOL. Temptation is really a party type resort where you can meet a lot of fun people to hang out with, dine with, visit the clubs, etc. Assuming that's your interest, it's really helpful to you, and others, to have a name and picture on the board. Look for the month's roll call that shows up a few months in advance of your visit, and put your names (and a good picture) on there. Pictures help you recognize other board members, and a good picture of yourselves will get you recognized as well. There's a lot of fun people to meet, and you can sort of get started before your trip. Enjoy- it's a great resort!

Yes indeed, if you are lucky enough you will get to meet great people like Marilyn & Steve and Jeff and Deb... I am lucky enough to go down with one of the greatest groups and a few of them bring print outs and roll call lists, cuz im terrible with names and pictures, but after just a one trip you will meet friends for life and you will want to make sure you all meet up again asap. Enjoy your trip and have a blast, Hopefully you will meet some great people like i have

My lovely wife just got a raise and 2 more weeks of vacation per year and since I have an abundance
of vac time, I'm hoping we can schedule a trip soon! Only hiccup is my crew signs up vac time at year
end for the coming year. Till we get a date set I guess we'll just read the latest trip reports.

Found in the FAQ sextion, don't forget to shrink your picture on your computer first to 120 x120 pixels, head shots are better cause pics are small


What are signatures?
'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. This might include pictures, links to your site(s), quotes, etc.
What are avatars?
Avatars are small images that people use to identify or distinguish themselves to other forum members. In some cases the administrator will not allow avatars or only allow them for specific members. The administrator can also provide some stock avatars people can use, or they can allow members to upload their own custom avatars from their own computers. These avatars will be displayed as part of the user info in posts, as well as in the public profile.

What are profile pictures?
Profile Pictures are photos members can upload that will display in their public member profile. This option may or may not be enabled by the administrator.
How do I set signatures, avatars and profile pictures?
You can set and change your signature, avatar and profile picture in the User Control Panel (providing the administrator has made these options available).
For signatures, click on 'Edit Signature' under the 'Settings and Options' area of the navigation bar within the User CP.
To select an existing or upload a new avatar, click on 'Edit Avatar'.
To upload a profile picture, click on 'Edit Profile Picture' in the 'Your Profile' section.

Fixed it for you. You'd added it as a profile pic, you also need to add it as an avatar pic to get it to show next to your posts.

I can honestly say that nobody came up to me and said, "Hey John, there you are" from my barbaric pic of my hoisting Stacia around as our profile pic.

..... quite a few recognized Stacia from behind though, hmmmm...

Funny.. similar thing happened here. Not 10 minutes by the pool and we received "Kelsey??". Twice. No word of a lie. Perhaps I'm not as memorable from this pic. lol.
