last years was incredible as we had an awesome party and we also raised over $40,000.00 in direct giving to the make a wish foundation and this year our goal is $100,000.00

okay the after the parade party just kicked up about twenty notches. aairius will dj this massive after party in the royal room at the hotel montelone immediately following this years parade.

check presentation will take place at the after party this year - and our goal is to donate $100,000.00 in direct giving to the make a wish foundation

last year we ended up with over 100 people - this year we are expecting double that amount

we have blocked 100 rooms at the hotel monteleone for that weekend and they will all sell out - so dont wait to long to book

I always think about sending a regular contribution to MAW, but usually forget. As of a couple of weeks ago I set up my BillPay to send a monthly check to the cause. Much easier for me than keeping track of some of the other things we are doing to help get to $100K. The can pile in the garage is getting tall and I will need to get rid of that before it gets any warmer.

I booked our airfare yesterday. SW flies direct from STL, and I never have to worry about paying too much as with SW you can always rebook at a lower price if/when they have a fare sale.

amazingly enough all it takes is a little from a lot

there are tons of great charities out there but there are none that our cancuncare group and related friends can claim (a) as "ours" and (b) that give 100 percent of all raised directly to this incredible charity

if any person ever did want to be a part of something good and worthwhile this is certainly one to consider.

Okay guys I know I never post, but its time for me to now

Not only do we have a massive open invitation party planned in New Orleans Louisiana for the weekend of September 7-9, 2012 but we have something else that I am sure all will love to witness.

Rob is turning 50 this year on Saturday, September 8. The old man is over the hill and and he is in dire straights....lol......So spot the dates of September 7-9, 2012 on your calendar and makes plans to be a part of his birthday celebration/reunion which directly benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation.


Don't wait until the old codger has kicked the bucket to come by and see him in a casket. Come see him while he is still alive and kicking and lets all doing something great for others in the process. Last year for this event, we raised approximately $40,000.00 in direct donations to the Make a Wish Foundation, and this year the sky is the limit.



In all seriousness, much is planned for this weekend and Rob is just fine (besides being his old grumpy self ). We have 100 rooms blocked at the Hotel Monteleone just for this incredible occasion. In fact, you can reserve your room today at no charge until you check out by simply calling the Hotel Montleone at (504)523-3341 and letting them know you are with the Make-A-Wish Group. The rooms are only $145.00 per night.


We are expecting every room to be booked by June 8, 2012 so make that call today and assure yourself a room before they are all gone.

Caleb and Chris's Meet and Greet in the Queen Anne Room at the Hotel Montelone featuring the Danny Alexander Band. The Make-A-Wish Foundation will also have a silent auction that evening.



Saturday, September 8, 2012

Jim and Terra's Wishes Wonders & Whodats Parade through the Quarter (featuring the wish list children and the CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be present) The parade theme is circus comes to mardi town and everyone decks out The parade will be followed by an adult pub crawl through the French Quarter. The parade will feature the Storyville Stompers.



The parade is kid friendly so make sure and bring the kids along - please feel free to dress them in costume as well



Adult Pub Crawl for those adults wishing to have some fun and raise some money, be sure and participate in the pub crawl and fun raising game which will take place immediately following the parade. There will be a nice prize for the contest winner.



Rob's 50th Birthday Party & Make-A-Wish Foundation Check Presentation Party featuring DJ Joe with Aairius Entertainment in the Royal Room at the Hotel Monteleone will take place after the parade and pub crawl. Yes we will sing happy birthday to the old geezer.............and we will also present a big fat check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Nicole and Tracy's Sunday Jazz Brunch at the incredible Palace Cafe featuring a wish granting party with our groups wish child.



This is a kid friendly event - In fact, we encourage everyone to attend (limited seating of 150) - this is a life changing experience and something I strongly encourage everyone to attend - please remember seating is limited to 150 people.

So what does Rob want for his 50th birthday?



He is not asking for anything for himself, instead he is asking for his family and friends to reach out and do something for others so that we can ALL present a big fat check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on his 50th birthday, Saturday, September 8, 2012.

Yeah guys and remember last year the hotel ended up booked full. We added 50 more rooms this year to accomodate all of the additional people that are expected.

However, we can only keep the block of rooms until June 8th. At that time, they will be turned over to the general public if we have not booked them all. The Saints are in town that weekend so whatever rooms we do not sell by June 8th Saints fans will gobble up.

Again, cost nothing to reserve/book your room today. Simply call the Monteleone and tell them you are with the Make-A-Wish group.
