Just got back from Blue Bay Playa Dorada DP

We just got back from DR, can tell you we did not find Chinos, the staff really do try but just can,t get people to get involved topless around the pool is not more than one or two the beach is the best, You can walk for hours. the food is not as good as cancun. Nightly entertainment was good but not sexy related. we tried not to say chinos would fix this and that but trust me if blue bay wants to get thier investment back in DRthey will move Chinos or Omar there right away and show the staff how it is done
so it they go missing you will know what happened. will be back to Cancun BlueBay july 13 to 25 for the 4th time and can,t wait. Oh and by the way I plan on beating Chinos in saturday tequila vollyball `and slappin his A$$

I always thought the Blue Bay in DR was totally unconnected with the Cancun and Los Cabos Blue Bay Resorts.

Maybe I'm wrong on that?

Chinos has been going back and forth betwen Cabo and Cancun.

They really want him there full time but he just plans on doing it as he is now. Chinos will be gone from BBG Cancun for extended periods of time (like most of May) while the staff at the new resorts are being trained.

But right now (and for the past few weeks) he has been at BBG in Cancun.

I like Chinos as much as the next person but honestly I don't think BBG misses a beat when Omar runs things.

Chinos has always done a lot of traveling and is going to be doing a lot more in the future to get the new resorts up and running as they want them to be.

Omar makes things just as fun if you give him half a chance and not constantly compare him to Chinos.

I beg to differ, Omar is doing a good job.
Chino has a better personality and gets the party going with his laughter and joking. Chino is always smiling and encouraging people to join in with his own way.
I am sure that is why they are using him at the other resorts. If I was in the management I would do the same for the other resorts as it is a business. We lose at BBG lose and the other resorts gain.
We will always give everyone in entertainment a chance as it is a tough job, yet when you really enjoy someone it is hard to replace them.

It will be a blast, yet we will miss Chino.

I,m sorry for the people at BBG But it bbg want the other places to work they need to be trained so you people have another resort to go to ,DP is great staff great entertainment just needs chinos to teach how to do it . they are not real good at trying to get people involved right now. rooms are great staff are great food is great ,But no BBG spirit

I agree with Karan......Omar can be fun, last time we were there Chinos was on holiday, and Omar kept things going just fine!! still a hoot

I know everyone LOVES Chinos, as I also do, but was surfing the other day and considering going to the DR next trip, glad to see they are sending Chinos there to show them how to "get R done"!!

But you say the resort was good?? always worry about trying a new place...

I agree, Chinos is the sh*t there.....I like Omar but he tends to be "mean" and Lalo doesn't throw a friendly edge like Chinos does either. We got to know Omar and Lalo pretty good on our #2 visit and they are excellent guys, Chinos was gone on our #2 visit and he was sorely missed by us, we didn't let it kill our fun thats for sure, but he was still missed.

BBG is great no matter who's manning the microphone but if I had to vote on who was behind the micrphone running the show....hands down, Chinos gets my vote!!

Jose gives a nice addition to the entertainment staff also.....and we ADORED Lynn, hoping she makes her way back to BBG very soon

We had a blast with all 3 of them, I'd miss any of them = but I think Heather would be choked if Omar was away the next time we show up.

Karen Do you know if Chinos will be there Aprill 19-26th. We missed him last year as he was on holidays. Really hoping not to miss him again as I agree with Tina. Omar can be mean and I missed Chinos so much last time.

I have no idea...we were just talking mainly about May as there's always a lot of repeaters that month.

But I do know he's set to travel some in March and April so it is possible he may be gone.

From what we heard from Chino and mario they both will be going back and fouth from all 3 resorts for a while..

But both said Cancun is there home and that is where they will stay..

Its a job and business to get the other resorts going..

DR is a great place to vacation we where there and it is beautifull..

Never been to Cabo yet, But may try it

That's exactly right...both Chinos and Mario will spend a lot of time away from BBG in the coming months.

That's why Mario is so pleased with the staff he has right now. He knows the activities are in good hands when they are gone.

Alejandra has really come into her own since Lynn's been gone.

She's much more outgoing than she was and is doing a terrific job. Plus, she's a genuinely nice person who I look forward to seeing each time I go back.

hey Mike I thought the Resort in Cabo was a Desire ? and for the record it's in the quite little town of San Jose Del Cabo not the wild and crazy Cabo San Lucas it's about 1/2 hour drive from all the bars. We just got back in Dec. from staying just down the beach a couple of resorts away, ocean is not safe for swimming .

Looking at expedia, they dont say anything about the resort being like Desire's......it just says like BBG in Cancun, that it is adult only...would hate to get down there and find out it is that environment, good for some people, not my cup of tea!!

The resort in the Dominican is just like BBG in Cancun. It is not like Desire.

The new Desire opened in Cabo.

I heard she went back to Canada for personal reasons but may return. I hope she does. She is so cute Ron and I loved her!

She did leave for personal reasons. At this point Mario is happy with his staff as is.

Alejandra was there with Lynn but kind of got overshadowed by her.

Since Lynn has been gone Alejandra has come into her own and is just great. She's outgoing and friendly and Mario is very happy with her.

Right now they aren't really even looking for a new girl. They'll all be working hard with Mario recuperating from surgury and Chinos traveling so much but the staff is in really great shape right now people wise.

I would love to get more info on Blue Bay in the DR as much as I love Cancun & the athmosphere you get at BBG, It would be great to be able to enjoy that type atmosphere in other parts of the Caribbean.
Also does anyone know if The Getaway club in Puerto Vallarta is part of the Hotel chain or has anyone gone there?

It use to be but they sold it off years ago.
