Are you looking at prices from Newark? If so I know exactly what you mean. I need to buy a ticket to San Juan, PR soon and Newark is usually the cheapest. Usually I can get it for about $200 round trip, but lately its been almost double that price. Have you looked at LGA or JFK? Sometimes you can even get a better deal out of Philly too. Not sure where you guys are in Jersey though.

I live up in Albany and its still cheaper for me to drive down to Newark, pay for parking gas and tolls than the airfare out of Albany. In a pinch I take Amtrack down and then PATH train from there

| It's between $19 and $25 to park at the NYC airports, not to mention getting from those lots to the terminal. Generally speaking, limo, taxi, or train is much better

I usually get a park and fly package from one of the hotels near the airport (usually LGA or Newark) and just take their free shuttle to the airport. It usually cost about $100 for the week including one night at the hotel--which is cheaper than parking for a week at the airport. Also, since my flights are always early it saves an early morning rush of driving from CT to NY or NJ, getting lost etc.

Do you have the name of the hotel you guys use? If I can get that kind of deal I will take it in a second. For me to pay 15-25 a day for parking for two weeks would be much more than that.[/quote] When we flew out of Newark we used one called "Econo Lodge". It's not a fancy place at all but it's real cheap and worked for us. They don't have park and fly packages but we called ahead and worked out the price. Came to $108 for 8 nights parking and one night hotel. That was in July. The one we use for LGA or JFK (there shuttles go to both) is Pan American. They are normally more than $100 for park and fly but we found a deal on the internet. If you're staying for two weeks perhaps they'll work something out with you. This hotel was actually quite nice, they upgraded us to a suite for free, they have a bar and restaurant in the lobby as well as free internet access/atm. Their long term parking lot is gated. I'd definately use them again even if it came out to slightly more for parking than the airport just for the peace of mind of not having to drive two hours at four in the morning and worry about making our flight. Plus it's always nice to start a a vacation off by making good use of the hotel bar....
