After reading through a bunch of your posts, I've come to the conclusion that what makes TTR so great is the people that go there....not so much the facility, or the beach. I also get the feeling that the management team and staff is not what it once was which leads to my question. Is there a resort with a similar philosopy as TTR but maybe has better facilities, better beaches, and the same fun atmosphere that BBG once had? If TTR closed tomorrow, where would you guys go to sow your wild oats?

dont really think we could "swing" desire - the nudity at temptations is just all in good fun - it is not a sexual thing

afraid that the fun at resorts like desire might be more sexual in nature and while t and i break the 23.75 barrier i dare say as well or better than any other couple we know - like to keep the "old in out in out" confined to privacy of our own room while we are on vacation

so...............

where would we go?

imagine we would just call up all our friends ask them to chip in a couple of benjamins so we could pay off the neighbors to go out of town for a few days - then open up the sexy pool in our backyard, hire a bartender, a dj, and an entertainment staff and just continue the tradition right here

I haven't been to very many "resorts" myself (lucky for me it only took me until my second tropical vacation to find TTR!) but my guess is that there isnt much out there for the folks who want to be a little more roudy than the normal resort but not so much "out there" as someone going to Desire's or Hedo.

I personally DO NOT want to go totally nude and I am sure my bf would NEVER even consider that. NEVER! We dont want to have sex in front of people. To me the fun of having sex in public is the "sneaky" side of it. The excitment that is breaking the rules is fun to us, we dont want to be seen. :shock: I am sure that I would be tired of seeing this type of thing in other people if we went to this type of resort. Sure I am all for a little porn every so often and maybe it would be kinda interesting the first time we saw it but after a bit I wouldnt like to see it anymore (granted, maybe it isnt happening often and we would only see it once on a trip but since I have never been I have no clue). While I love sex that is NOT ALL my vacation is about and I have a feeling that Desires/Hedo vacation would make it more about sex than it needs to be. If I just wanted to have sex all day I could hire a babysitter and stay home or rent a hotel here in town and save a TON. (HMMM I wonder what G is doing this week??? :P )

I am hoping TTR stays the same with new faces. There are other people with outgoing personalities like the crew who left in the world, lets pray that TTR has the balls to hire them. My guess is since they are outgoing/outspoken they dont take any shit and that can cause problems with managment anywhere. ESP if they way they treat the Primere members is any indication on how they may treat thier employees!

I love TTR the way it is and hopefully it will stay fun with such a wonderful mix of guests and staff. Personally I think the rooms are nice. They arent the Ritz. But you arent paying for the Ritz. I think most sights rate TTR as a 3 or 3.5 star hotel. Now mind you I have never personally stayed at a 5 star but I do know that TTR is NOT one, IF you go in expecting one that is CLEARLY YOUR FAULT! They arent false advertising. I think with many of the improvements made recently I would for sure give it that 3.5 If the beach was nicer I would give it a solid 4. So because of location it gets a lower score. Not really somethiing they can change at this point. However I do like the WATER at the beach better than the longer strip on Cancun because you can GO IN IT (I would guess almost all year) as the waves are never too bad. So you can also Kayak and use the Hobies, I find them fun. The beach isnt horrendous either. It just isnt nice. It is small and rocky. But lets put it in perspective for a bit shall we...you COULD BE at HOME instead of there and depending on the time of year you travel, well, I just dont think the beaches at home are as good. LOL!

As for the food. Sure it could be better. They do have a WIDE variety all DAY LONG! If you dont like something dont eat it. Pick something else. It is INCLUDED! That is the one beauty of the AI. You dont have to worry about paying for a different item if it turns out you didnt like something. You can try something you wouldnt normally and if it isnt all that then get something else. I dont think I was EVER told I couldnt have what I want anywhere in the place. EVER! The specialty reataurants are AWESOME! I didnt have one bad thing! The bacon wrapped shrimp at the Itialian....TO.DIE.FOR!

I think Jamie hit the nail on the head.

Here is where I stand on all the changes. This is basically just connecting the dots of everything that has happen and few things I've heard first and second hand from the staff........

Temptations is trying to push us out (repeaters). They don't want the highest repeat rate of any resort in the caribbean. They make the most profit on Premier sales. Sales have been down mainly due to such a high rate of repeat guest. Not enough fresh meat to sell to. Premier has flat out told Premier people they don't want them there because they can't sell them anything. This isn't just low end sales people either saying this to members. What is one of the biggest attractions to the resort??? The atmosphere of Temptations. Who helps create that great atmoshpere?? The old activity staff. Lalo, Chinos, and Omar all said the higher ups are moving in a different direction and they aren't part of the future in not so many words. These guys are a big part of why everyone of us keep coming back. Comments cards back this up. So by removing them they plant the seed in every repeaters mind if they want to come back. Maybe now we only come back every other year, or maybe we just go once a year now, well you get the idea. Less of us and more new people means more sales. They are turning into what I feared the most when RCI got there hands into Premier deep.............Timeshare factory resort. This happens to alot of older resorts. Take away the allure/niche of Temptations and the resort dies in a few years. So many bigger, smaller, newer, same money, and nicer resorts to go to. You can only rewrap Temptations so many times and resell it. In the hotel business its a dinosaur and in the timeshare business it can go for decades longer.

When you add up all the changes that has occured over the last few years it seems to add up what I'm saying above. Bottom line is now and its sad to say as its been about 10 years since my first visit. They(Temptations) just don't care as much about us as they use to. Instead of being welcomed as a repeat/Premier guest we are now looked at as the "wallet is closed" guest. New guest are now number one and looked at as potential "$$$$$$$$". Changes where made over the years to help curb us from repeating as often. The latest are just the most drastic and chances are will get the end results they are hoping for.

P.S.: Didn't want to write a novel as there is alot more to what came to this conclusion. But everything I've gathered points to this. I'd actually be shocked if what I said above was wrong. I also think that is a big reason why they look the other way on this site. This site is a big part of the repeat problem. Crazy that you'd have this resource know as Cancun Care and not use it. :roll:

angibaby the more the merrier - the big party is the superbowl party - especially if the cowboys play - while your scraping ice off the windshield -will be in the heated pool playing wild tequila volleyball and i'll be contemplating which nice shoes techno mix im going to have to play to run everyone off at 2 in the morning :lol:

If not TTR, then maybe the Golden Parnassus. It seems to be a milder TTR, but my guess would be that if we hit there with more than just one or two couples we could turn it into another TTR fairly quickly. I know it is supposed to be topless also, but I have yet to see any pics that would indicate it being topfree friendly. I believe it is also an older resort.

My understanding is that there are two resorts. One is the Great Parnassus and the other is the Golden Parnassus. The Golden is the adults only one and the kids go to the other resort. From the pictures that I have seen their beach is just a hunk of a very long stretch of beach with lots of hotels along the way. The beach at Golden seems to be a lot more public than the one at TTR.

This place will change, trust me if I can do something about it. People are screwed by them, after the resort took they money.

It will change soon enough, when people stop coming back.

I cant wait to see the scrapbook! My bff needs to make a CD of her photos from the last trip so I can start to work on mine. I have a bunch of papers (like I needed MORE! :roll: :P ) and a plan of how I want to lay the whole thing out too. One of my other good friends is coming to scrapbook with me next week but I doubt I will have time to print photos by then. Oh well I have SO many photos of other things to work on anyways.

Wow.......great idea.....there is power in unity....I agree it is the people that go, not the resort. The entertainment staff sets the mood we take it from there and we all could do that at any adult only resort. If the word got around it might even be hard to sell the timeshares. If you really look around the beach is not much, the buildings are old, the rooms are updated but not all that, the the food is okay, the booze okay......IT IS ABOUT THE FUN WE ALL MAKE AS A GROUP and that could be done anywhere. At this point it is hard to tell where they are headed, but if it is timeshares repeaters just by their presence help sell those....who would want to buy a timeshare in a place like that without the fun that goes along with it. Those of us that go and enjoy the cazy fun are a different crowd....not Desire or Hedo......just daring enough to take off our tops, and have some fun with a great group of people that have become friends and family over the years. Some we do not talk to much in the space of a year and in a few minutes at the sexy pool it is like we have never left.

The word will get out believe me, and very soon repeater will stop coming, since it will only bring back bad memory of how they get screwed by the the timeshare deal they were promised to.

Thanks for your post, you said it best.

Soon, there will be no May re-union, and no March, April, June, and July roll calls. There still be bruzzcuise, BBG, and TR, but no one go there. It's just a place. I love the place too, but soon it will only be in a bad dream because I got sucker into buy timeshare.

The resort will change, and soon those friends who you love to see will stop coming, and when you do not see your friends, you will stop going too. Whoever ends up at this resort would be able to buy timeshare if they only have enough just to buy the cheap ticket from discount vacation website. soon, the resort management will need to make more profit by cutting back since there is no new suckers and no new money from sales. Guess what happen then, the service go, staff quit and go some place else.

THE PLACE WILL CHANGE, when there is no repeater, because they are assamed to advertise as a dumbass who bought the timeshare from the place. If anyone who want more info on this place timeshare, just email me, or go read the other tread, "Watch out BBG owner".
